For those wondering this is an episode of a show called “THE ORIVILLE” it’s streaming on Hulu. It’s a Star Trek influenced show that relies heavily on satire.
The daughter instead of hugging her grandma gave her a “like”, and the grandma instead of getting her the ice cream as a gesture of love she got it for an upvote…
ngl for that first one with the girl pressing the button on her grandma, i swear i thought she was turning off her breathing device or whatever its called😭

China did that or look similar system, but not about you can't buy something but is you cant use public transportation or buying a house. The most ridiculous is you cant go to another country😅
It was a blatant ripoff of black mirror and I'm only here to see if anyone else called it out.....the black mirror episode was awesome, and just from a few clips, Is far better than this poorly acted bs
@@SelfHatingLionsFanbro i’ve watched all seasons of black mirror and i just finished the first episode of this show and i can already say that it’s WAY better acted, WAY more interesting, WAY funnier, and it actually has a plot to follow.
The show is called The Orville that is the episode where they go to a weird planet and John accidentally did something he didn’t know was disrespectful but he was just playing around
@@monicacampbell9095 I can’t quite remember. Think something was leaked to the press. Sorry, that’s all I got! Been a while. 😆 Might watch again actually.
So, what happens when you find yourself in the worst situation possible: -Your Grandson has an obsession with pushing buttons. -His favorite color is RED -Your Grandson and Badge are both missing
I dont see why two people with bad ratings wouldn't just hang out together. They could just give each other positive ratings until they were back the good graces of society.
There's probably a mechanism to prevent that. For example, the system might weigh votes differently, making a vote from someone with more downvotes than upvotes less significant. This way, it prevents people with poor ratings from easily gaming the system.
I think it didn't matter how positive you were, all that mattered was how negative you were. Unce you had some sort of negative numbers it was impossible to do certain things. At least I read about this in different video, haven't watched the show or movie tbh😅
In case you are wondering, it is an episode on the show, “the Orville” Episode 7. The Orville is a space show like Star Trek, and this is just an episode, not the show theme.
It's from the tv show The Orville, majority rules. He danced on a statue of a hero and it was recorded. Video was posted on an online master feed and it was downvoted by thousands of ppl when he was in the coffee shop. He gets arrested for harming the State and has to go on an apology tour after which you get neurologically readjusted if you get downvoted too much. The spaceship crew then manipulates the master feed with different endearing messages about him/his childhood/his weight, which get lots of upvotes and they manage to save him/escape this world. 😅😂
I knew this looks familiar and I was actually coming into the comment section to look to see if anyone mentioned it or I was going to ask. That was a good show unfortunately, it went to Disney+ And I was never able to get past the second season 😞
Man I've seen clips of the show where they're trying to show him doing good things, and now I see this and this comment just linked those two in my head
Yeah that irritates the f*** out of me... However the Black mirror is really interesting and if they're not going to make any new episodes I guess I'll take Shein
Oh my gosh, thank you SO MUCH for helping me find the name of that show! I can't even begin to express how grateful I am. You are a total lifesaver and an absolute genius! Seriously, I was losing my mind trying to remember it, and you came through like a hero. I owe you big time! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
@@Fireball006 No because not everyone would get down votes because some people are just great and there will always be people would know who to avoid so they'd have a lot more up votes
Like seen in the end of this clip you don't need to touch or be in the presence of someone to down vote you. If you did this ppl would complain & you'd get a rep & ppl would gang up on you & you'd get massively down voted. Basically like some ppl get cancelled on social media.
Fun thing, the script of this 'the orville' episode (S1 E7) was submitted before may 2016, and Black Mirror's episode "Nosedive" aired in late October 2016.
@mobofthedead3818 You can't do a single thing without 4 people at the same time going "negative aura 🤡" or "bro just went up 1000 aura points with that sigma move
@@nathandavern7030 Yeah bro my heart goes out too your generation for sure back in the day having a gram of pot and Juul you were the ultimate “Sigma”💀
It is The Orville Season 1 Episode 7. It's called Majority Rules. For those who dont want to watch it, John grinds a statue just goofing off, and it is uploaded to the 'Master Feed', which is one giant social media feed. When it went viral, everyone started downvoting him, and he was arrested and forced to go on an apology tour. EDIT: For starters, thank you, 1.9k people. I never thought I'd get that many likes. Also, for those asking, The Orville is available to watch on Hulu. I'm not sure on other platforms.
"Most of these are from my 20s. I'm a completely different person now." This says a lot. Most of the choices that shapes our lives comes from our twenties. Some will be lucky to get it corrected while most won't. Be careful how you choose to live your life. You never get a second "20s" Live life Fun. Your future is dependent on the decisions you make Now. God bless you all.
From about 18 to 30 lots and lots of choices. From 30 to 40 its lots of self correcting and than 40 to 50 is missing the days of decision making like that. Realiaizing you worried about many things. Enjoy all your years
For context, this show is called The Orville, and the guy whose badge gained the downvotes that quick did like a really suggestive dance on a statue of a really important person in this planet’s culture. I get that he’s from Earth, not this planet, but I feel like if you see a statue of a person in the middle of a city, you probably shouldn’t dance on it to demonstrate what is and isn’t ’too grindy’.
No one argues what he did was fine, but the sentence resulting from the amount of downvotes and how they battled against that shows obvious issues with this system. Then also how you could buy fake badges with scores. It's pretty good episode that criticizes this system, even if its not original since even startrek had it. (im scared of calling this system because im worried it will trigger the bots to downvote me into comment disappearing... which is quite ironic)
This is like the episode Nosedive in Black Mirror where their “ranking” defined their social, work and financial status. It always made me think of what my own ranking would be IRL.
I think that you can't upvote or downvote yourself, even if you could, you would only be able to do it once, othere people can only downvote you once and upvote you once a week, I think thats the case
It's also like Black Mirror season 3 episode 1 called "NOSEDIVE." My favorite Gumball of all time is season 4 episode 18, "The Wicked" about Mrs. Robinson. Mrs. Robinson is exactly like my little sister. Sadistic AF & lives to ruin people's day 😭
