You are BACK!!!! I truly miss you and all your wonderful videos! I pray all is well with you and your family . Peace and Blessings to you and yours always!!
I look forward to healthy hair growth this year .I am loving my natural hair I don't have the curls but thanks to wonderful women like you I have learned to love care for and embrace what God gave me!!
Alright!! Good to see you again! I am still applying the no heat for 3 months rule! In March will be the next time I can apply heat, if I want to! I am enjoying my protective styles!
You were greatly missed...:) Thanx for posting a new video.... Please keep them up I watch them all:) I can take all the hair advice i can get... THaNKs
You are so pretty and i loved the video. U went through many changes, guess it payed off because you learned alot about your hair along the way. Thank you for this helpful information. You ladys have really encouraged me to follow through my natural hair transition.
Happy New Year! Good to see you again! Thanks for the year in review. There's a huge difference btw '08 - '09. I will try to remember how to apply the color to my hair later this year. I want to have enough length and strength around my bang area before I apply any color.
So glad too see your vid.....You know we miss the regular blogging but I'll take whatever I can get. Hope the New Year finds you doing well and your hair continues to be healthy and you get inspired to post even more inspirational blogs. Happy New Year
Umkish is right. Salon dye can be just as damaging, which is why I only color my bangs. My hair grows super fast, so if I were to damage any part, I know my bangs will grow back. Yet, I've never had an issue, ever.
Happy 2010!!! Another great video as usual! The challenges you put in place and followed definately yielded both growth and fullness which is awesome!! Even though I am now wearing a twa, I will keep all of this in mind as my hair continues to grow!! Blessings always!
This is a very good video! I was wondering if you can make a tutorial on how you trim your hair and how to colour hair in small section and what type of dyes to get, also to discuss rinses and the difference between the two. Can't wait to see more of you!
I don't think straightening once a month or trimming once every three months is too frequent. I'm happy with my methods and I've never told anyone they had to follow mine, so feel free to DO YOU.
Your hair is so pretty! I also love the color. When I was relaxed, I often air-dried my hair before flat ironing (if i flat ironed at all). The only time that I actually used heat was when i visited the stylist. Heat would cause my hair to be dry and brittle.
I haven't had a relaxer in my hair since 2005, I've pretty much been wearing wigs since that time and my hair has grown sooooo much. I agree about the ends of the hair when its natural and curly how the ends are tangled...that's where I am right now. Basically I need a good flat iron so that I can I can straighten my hair so that it can be trimmed. Because of the bad experience I had with a beautician, I would just prefer to do my own hair at home. Thanks for the tips :)
i just want to start off by saying ur one of the first natural women i've seen on youtube n inspired me to go natural...ur so thorough and informative! i love watching u! also... i have a question....i know u've experienced heat damage from straightening...what would u now recommend as a good heat protectant? i would like to straighten mine but i'm so afraid it won't revert lol ur hair is gorgeous by the way!
I think sew ins and braids grow my hair out great. Thats just my personal opinion. I have had no problems with them. I just don't get any hairstyle back to back. I think you should always switch your hairstyle up with any style(including natural) i can't help but notice alot of women on here are so anti-weaves.
thx 4 this video in review & the hair challenge! Funny thing I have been straightening my natural hair for 7 years since first going natural so needless to say a lot of heat damage. I was considering taking a break on straightening my hair but I also love it straight :) so your video help re-emphasize heat in moderation can't be that bad. I am now going to stick to straightening my hair every 6 weeks & adding protein & deep conditioning treatments too! Thx again!
Hi, I'm transitioning from relaxed to natural and im 5 months in! And I was wondering, just as someone else has already asked, how do you control your edges during this period? Because it's drawing negative attention to my head! And I was also wondering if you were mixed with anything, because if not I was wanting to know how to get my hair to curl similar to yours, or at least to wave up and look cute.
So I heard alot of naturals on youtube say that they don't dye thier hair because it's not natural. I'm not opposed to dyeing at all and I actually want too. Before I started transitioning I dyed my hair black and it has never really gone back to its sandy red natural color. What are your tips for dyeing natural hair ?
i am going to try your challenge on my own. i already do most of what you suggested but i could step my game up more. would this be good for a transitioner like me? :)
ok.. I just chopped it all of in early november. so i got about 5 inches now. I have not done anytyp of heating to my hair, I just braid it after i'm done washing it... That's about it. I would straighten it if their was some curl, but their is none. I don't know what is wrong. I didn't think it would turn out like this:(
love ur hair, its very healthy... but my hair isnt naturally that sily and curly..... mine is more so afro-ish. I was wondering what are the best products/tips for those of us who dont have ur hair type. Or maybe its a product ur using idk... i'd just love to have some insight...thnks :)
Just wanted to let you know... I changed my shampoo and conditioner and.......Got some wave. yeah:) I just believe the ingredients were to harsh on my hair and wasn't giving it a chance to thrive. Still no curl but hey wavey is better than nothing. Now its time to embrace the hair and WATCH OUT for those harsh products:) Thanks for your support. Please make a new vid soon. MISS YAH:0)
Your video almost brings me to tears, cause i am completely natural now, and unlike all the other women i see my hair won't curl up... It wont even make an afro.. how can I get som curl....? help me PLEASE.
hi , im going natural and im transitioning now but i wanted to know how do you transtion edges because my edges are so nappy and dry and brittle because i dont have a perm on them and i cant use gel because it makes it wavy and nappy looking can anyone help thanks
ok i need help i want to go natural but i have 3 mayb 4 problems 1 my hair is damaged & its thinnin. 2 its growin bac now but my natural texture is thick I mean really thick & my ends r straight 3 i just gave n & applied a perm after goin without a perm 4 3 months is not breakin badly but its not healthy. 4 i am hook on the creamy crack..now if i can get my hair 2 b curly like dprincess28 i will go natural & never use a perm again..So Question? is that & S curl?
my hair is sooo similar to yours but yours is like a baby finger longer :) i've always been natural and have curls but i wanna texturize to make it more managable because of my massive volume :( wish me gl
