That's one of the main routes I ride my motorcycle,pretty cool views,and at night if you look up at the sky you can see just about every single star,its awesome!
St. Augustine holds 2 distinct honors. Oldest settlement and oldest Black settlement. Spain brought free and enslaved Africans when St. Augustine was founded. Florida allowed anybody to come, but they had to convert to Catholicism and enlist in the Spaniard militia. A group of Seminole Indians whooped the United States ass all the way from Florida into Texas, then helped Mexico gain independence, now called Cinco De Mayo.
I don't know,you have the story of St Augustine, a little misleading, when the British took St Augustine from the Spaniards,the English burned the city ,& later the Spaniards took over,...it's true that they married,or mix their race with the natives,but they never took then back to the mother country ( Spain) & about Cuba,it was a Spanish colony,so they kept together & they took over the city again,after the disaster That these British soldiers,pirates did,in St Agustine, and yes,the Spaniards kept all the records,the real one's, not what the Lies of the " black book" that the English wrote against the Spaniards,
