Kedves Sziszi! ☺I totally agree on what You said and i can give testimony of the amazing Hungarian hospitality.❣ Just think that one day, years ago, I had to go to an important job interview in Budapest, but unfortunately I lived far from there...in Hungary ok, but at 200 kms from Budapest.🥺 So a friend of mine was SO kind to invite me to dinner the day before (near Budapest), and not only the dinner was fantastic as You described, but...the family even gave me a room to sleep, and they accompanied me to the interview by car the day after..!💖😭😍 I will always be grateful for that from the bottom of my heart, and I couldn't not write this...because i am still amazed by the generosity, the kindness, the big hearts of these Hungarian friends of mine.❣🥰 I feel blessed that i found such wonderful friends here, and of course: You are another shining example of how awesome Hungarians can be.❤🤍💚🤗💐🙏

Thanks Sziszi, i love your channel. It keeps me connected to my Hungarian roots and brings back lots of memories. When i was younger and traveling to Budapest, i always had to go to both grandmothers for lunch, one after the other. 😄 They would compete and each ask me how the food was at the other's house. Lucky i had a huge appetite and they were both insane cooks ! My dad was an awesome cook too and he used to cook halaszle and gujas in a bogracs at big parties. I feel sorry for my mum though who was always so stressed having to host dinners for lots of people. Unfortunately, i feel that in Hungarian culture being a good host is closely related to a woman's worth.

So true everything you said! Here in the USA when we were invited to dinner at Hungarians especially in my youth, glasses were never empty and you make sure to be somewhat hungry before you arrived or else you left stuffed and unable to move.. You endlessly thanked the hostess for the invite in the end... Not be critical but growing up I always felt something was lacking when I ate dinners at my American friends...(I was a little spoiled) and the spot on a glass ware yes ...lol

Én tapasztaltam hasonlót Sri Lankán meg az araboknál is. Állandóan etetnének vagy itatnának (na nem borral, hanem teával meg édességgel) de Európán belül tényleg egész jól állunk ‘hospitality’ terén

Ez magyarázza azt a feszültséget, hogy amikor magyar feleségemmel meglátogatjuk amerikai testvéremet és sógornőmet, akik azt mondják a feleségemnek, hogy "szolgáld ki magad, amire szükséged van a konyhában".

Ez a magyaros tukmálás, akit szeretünk, azt mindig etetnénk, itatnánk. Nem tudom ismered-e/ismeritek-e az USA-ban élő Lincoln Andrást? Ő ének-zene-angoltanár, rockzenész, musicalszínész. 20+ éveiben kezdett el magyarul tanulni, - bár, az anyai dédszülei magyarok voltak, - az I. Világháború előtt vándoroltak ki Amerikába, de mára a magyar nyelv már kikopott a családból, ezért András az egyetem után kezdett tanulni magyarul és most már perfektül beszéli a nyelvet. ( 2 x 1-1 évet itt is töltött.) Sok vicces és zenei videót készített az amerikai és magyar kulturális és nyelvi különbségekről.
