The Airbus a380 has been in the Infinite Flight Simulator for over 11 years. Added in December of 2012, this aircraft has lives through millions of flight hours by players, and it has served as a backbone to the simulator. As technology advances, this a380 model from 2012 has been in high demand (and need) of a rework. In November of 2022, community members voted to have it reworked. After a year and a half of hard work, the Airbus a380-800 is finally ready to be rolled out of the hangar! Join me in this video as I do one final flight with the old a380 model! I flew as a Korean air a380 from a stormy New York City, to Incheon, South Korea!

The Airbus A380, conceived as a flagship for the 21st century, emerged as the world's largest passenger airliner and a groundbreaking achievement in aviation history. The project was officially launched in December 2000, with the first prototype taking to the skies on April 27, 2005. The A380, capable of accommodating over 800 passengers in a typical two-class configuration, represented a paradigm shift in long-haul air travel, emphasizing efficiency, comfort, and environmental considerations. However, despite its technical prowess and luxurious amenities, the A380 faced economic challenges and shifting market demands. Airbus ultimately announced the discontinuation of the A380 program in February 2019, with the last aircraft scheduled for delivery in 2021.
