Nope, Scotsman's current whistle is actually the correct one, high-pitched and squeaky. She has sounded like this even when first built. It's just dirty. It barely sounds different when cleaned though.

@@muricatrains scot being the famous mighty engine it is, it doesn’t deserve a pathetic squeaker like it has, rip it off and give it a gresley 3-chime

@@muricatrains It didn't quite sound right after the first year or so since the Scotsman's return. It produced a way higher-pitched squeaky sound when it should've been producing a high D note.

Flying Scotsman uses a bell whistle. Back in the earlier days it used to be a chime whistle.
