Mercedes has indeed got a few models that use Renault motors/parts, however, the A45 is not one of them. AMG models never use Renault motors or parts. GOLF 8 R stock doesnt run far behind a A45s ( I know I have a 8r and raced 2 A45's over the 1/4 mile a few times including running neck and neck twice ! So a stage 1 can very possibly achieve this result - no surprise to those that own and drove both these cars

Agreed 100%. Factory standard specifications the AMG pushes out 280kw whereas the Golf pushes out maximum of 235kw😂. No way in hell that the Golf beats the Merc. The Merc driver obviously tapped off. Maybe he didnt want to embrass the VW. By the way....both these vehicles are all wheel drive with same engine displacement.

Golf have stage 1 if that Benz was tuned on Eurocharged. Then there be a race. I love to race it with my E55 and my GLE43. I already beat a GTI modified with my GLE43.

However, with a Stage 1 tune and the fact that the Golf 8R is a much newer car, I do agree on the fact that it should have closed the gap a lot faster! If you don’t race in a straight line, the skill of the driver matters too. Everyone can race in a straight line. Because of that, the result of the race is simply more reliable. If you put a better driver in a slower car, he could still win because of his driving skills on a touge track. We compare cars on this channel and not the drivers.
