Unexpectedly good is an understatement. The Flagship Business Lounge of American Airlines in LAX was fabulous. I'd never imagine giving such praise to anything American Airlines before, but this lounge is simply great, plain and simple.

I love American flagship lounges. So much better than those admiral clubs. Not the same league at all!!

I’m gonna get to go to the Flagship Lounge for my upcoming Miami trip; I’m in Flagship Business. Flagship Lounge also sells day passes (Flagship Lounge day passes cost about twice as much as an Admirals Club day pass FYI). The LAX-MIA and PHX-HNL routes, which mainly use short haul ✈️, are considered Flagship Hawaii and Transcon respectively if using lie flat equipped ✈️(currently 787s and 777s for PHX-HNL and MIA-LAX respectively despite a typo on AA’s website’s Flagship Business Transcontinental page saying A321Ts do MIA-LAX); unlike Flagship Hawaii, PE is sold as MCE on Flagship Transcon routes.

you can also get in while flying economy if you have certain elite status

Correct. But except AA and AS own status which dont allow travelers to get in if flying regionally. All other airlines’ sapphire and emerald equivalent status can get in even in domestic flights

Do they have flagship first class dining available? Like the one in JFK and Miami? Ones that you can sit and be served?

It not a bad thing you missed the Admiral's Club at LAX. It's nothing spectacular; it's always overcrowded, and the food is nothing special. It's a shame the charge over $600 for the CC that gets you access. If it wasn't for the very high credit limit they give, I would cancel it.
