I've read 3 of these books - Journal of a Solitude, Letters to a Young Poet, and A Room of One's Own. Virginia Woolf is one of my favourite writers, the way she explores thought and the human experience and flitting backwards and forwards in time. But you're right that she lacks intersectionality when it comes to class and race particularly. I would love to see how her writing mind would operate in the current time period, and see if she could hopefully re-examine certain ideas and give representation where it's needed today through her brilliant way with words. It would be interesting to see living writers today throw down the gauntlet and see her take it up. That goes for a lot of writers. Oh, if only immortal intertextuality could give long-dead writers a guest spot (ghost spot) at the living table. ~ Jensha

I adored Mrs. Dalloway when I read it a few years ago, and have been enjoying slowly making my way through some of her journals :) She's a fascinating person!

I mostly read non-fiction but have read "Brideshead Revisited" and I did enjoy it. Thanks.

I just finished Jamaica Kincaid's "Among Flowers" - first one-star book of the year. I had such high hopes, but alas... 👎
