Karen currently serves as Chair of the Social Impact Council of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce and Co-Vice Chair of the NSU M.P.A in Nonprofit Advisory Board. She is the Founding Chair of the Women’s Council and creator of the Excuse Me That’s My Seat conference. Karen has also served on the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors, Executive, Government Affairs, and Nominating Committees.
She is a past chair of the Gay and Lesbian Business Exchange Council (GLBX) and homelessness Committee on the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Social Justice Taskforce. Awarded many community awards for her visionary leadership, Karen was also honored as one of Fort Lauderdale’s Powerful Women by Gold Coast Media Group and featured in numerous media campaigns as an advocate for various groups and organizations in the diverse Fort Lauderdale community.
She is a powerful, confident, loving woman whose vision for the world is oneness.
AAF CreativeZen was born out of a desire for Choose954 & The UniteUs Group to connect, engage, and inspire our local creative community. We open the doors 30 minutes before the talk starts to mix, meet, and mingle with fellow likeminded members of our community.
Every Creative Zen event includes a complimentary guided meditation before a short inspiring and thought provoking talk during the second Friday morning of the month. All Creative Zen events are free of charge and open to the community, being creative is not required!
Immediately following the talk there will be an announcement of AAF Broward + Palm Beach's new Film Committee and a tour of the L.A. Lee YMCA/Mizell Community Center.
