@Frightcontrol I'm miserable for being thankful I didn't have to grow up with social media around? I'm actually pretty chill so please don't lose sleep over me 😘
She wasn't bigger than her but ok. Aaliyah just had more longevity and been in the game longer. I swear some of you live in a bubble of ignorance when it comes to music. Destiny's Child was most certainly a major deal during this interview because there was so much talk and debate regarding TLC and Destiny's Child. They were certainly international stars by this time. I'm not sure why people like to sleep on that fact when it comes to Aaliyah and Beyonce. @@pocahontas4583 Destiny's Child was a thing and we all know who the star of Destiny's Child was. No shade to Kelly, Michele, Toya, or LaTavia but the facts are just facts. Beyonce was defintely well known and a hot commodity in her own right. Aaliyah had her lane and Beyonce had hers.
Beyoncé's voice sounds so young. It's incredible to see her evolution as a woman. I can only imagine what Aaliyah would be doing now. She was such an incredible artist. RIP. 😢
@sensimania they sure do lol have you seen those women be 50 years old and don’t be looking a day over 30 . I think aging is beautiful it self . We as humans age we don’t stay young forever that’s impossible. Society makes it feel like aging is a crime . And everyone is spending thousands of dollars to looks younger . It’s sad .
My cousin Eric was a celebrity makeup artist who always did Aaliyah's makeup (probably here too). Every time I see her I think of him. RIP cuz we miss you man.
Beyonce tried to belittle Aaliyah by self-titling her as "one of the hottest female artists". That's why Aaliyah didn't shake her hand. Aaliyah was the hottest female artist in the game and was killing radio 📻 with her records that were bangers and classics. Beyonce didn't even show up to Aaliyah's funeral. Aaliyah will forever be the brightest ✨ star in the universe and an eternal flame!🔥💯
@Pudding Pie don't use the word woke also to add they were both brought up in the craft nothing just happened both worship Satan and do all kinds of stuff
Dywane Carter I would say positive things about her because I literally grew up listen to Beyoncé and she’s had such an impact on this generation... and Aaliyah was an angel. Maybe not to you but she was to many.
@Dywane Carter Beyonce is a great singer and truly is talented but people hate on her cause she claims to be a ' feminist ' but also said , " I don't care if he cheats on me but the types of ' BITCHES ' he cheat with " Besides nobody is even talking about Beyonce , she is gorgeous but we can appreciate other women too lol.
Aailyah was beautiful in everyway. She pioneered the era of ppl coming together in collaboration. If you watch some of her videos, she had some of everyone coming through vibing together. In videos today, you don't see that too often. I have so much appreciation for the gifts she left the world. ❤
What does it reveal to you? I look and see she is uncomfortable, although trying to look normal. Heard that she was killed on purpose though. Maybe she wanted to get out of Hollywood
Senti que ela estava meio desinteressada de fazer essa entrevista. A Beyoncé que segurou as pontas. Será que já havia boatos da Beyoncé com o Jay z nessa época???
@@evgeniam685I think she was uncomfortable with Beyoncé’s pointed envy & generally fake vibe. It would be super weird having a beautiful pop star who’s already successful in her own right come up and act like that. Like, chill Beyoncé.. I guess she got too comfortable kicking girls out of destiny’s child whenever she felt threatened by them and didn’t know how to act around Lili
Musical Artists who pass away hurt me the most especially if they were unique had their own sound and made good music like Alliyah and so many others. It hurts so much and it may be selfish but I just want to hear more music from them. Amy Winehouse's death also hurt me cuz I was anticipating the next album and even new artists who haven't had much time to shine like XXXTentacion, Juice World, and Lil Peep if they had more time we'd be hearing some good stuff. It's just sad to think about :(
When was she the queen of anything... I love Aaliyah but, she never sold more then the females of her time or won awards. She was hailed legendary when she past early. I love her some of her music, but please. Speak facts.
It’s weird that Aaliyah died and Beyoncé started to rise but If she was a live Aaliyah would have been bigger then Beyoncé I was 1 year old when she died
@Shane Calvin TV exactly! I reckon insecure white women are behind this setup somehow. Black men entertainers praise and uplift light, bright + white women collectively to keep WW and her man happy.
@@quirkyangelxoxo i would not be surprised. I also think some of the bm feel that having a ww is the prize they get for making it out the hood and being successful. It dont always be about proximity
How many times do people compare rappers and whose better? How many times had rappers had beef with eachother? That’s the industry. It isn’t just about being a female. Im saying this as a female myself. The industry is competitive everyone wants to compete. And unfortunately if someone likes one artist and not another one they will hype them up over the other one. That’s how it goes with all artists.
Yasmine Kattan no one is talking about “beef”, we’re talking about the monopoly Beyoncé has in the Black Female R&B sector, she’s the top one and has no competition. Aaliyah would have been her competition. Male rappers “beef all the time” yes, but they still all have a fair shot at being regarded as the best in their field. Beyoncé robs all other black women artists of that chance. And I think lowkey WW artists want it this way so there’s not too many BW out here outshining them.
Beyoncé don't like competition, so you know it must've been tough for her when Aaliyah was alive 😂. R.i.p baby girl Aaliyah, you were one in a million for real! 🔥
Beyonce never said she didn't like competition....Beyonce just has a light that stands out which is perfect......... especially when grown people are crying and tearing up at her concerts and tours STOP THE HATE
Thats why Jay Z and beyonce sacrificed her to the elites. Just for beyonce to be the number 1. Then Jay z and beyonce to be the power couple in hollywood.
@@Via_Satellite Sisqo was a really popular artist back in the day (he came from Dru Hill which was a moderate boyband in the 90s). He's kinda fizzled off a bit now. They are just finding it funny that he's the presenter/commentator of this awards ceremony. Hence why Beyonce said "back to you Sisqo" etc. Y'all should think outside the box more, just saying. Smh.
@@Bonescratcher Sisqo was a great artist in that era. Underrated actually, when I think about it. He had went solo and his Unleash The Dragon album was huge. He was the lead singer in Dru Hill...an R&B group that pretty much dominated R&B in the late 90's. At that time, Sisqo was a bigger artist than Beyonce & Destiny's Child or at least just as big. This was right before Usher really blew up (he was definitely a star, but he became a superstar with 8701). Dru Hill's first 2 albums entitled Dru Hill & Enter The Dru are classic albums. I'd say the same for Sisqo's first solo album Unleash The Dragon.
This video makes me imagine what if Aaliyah is still alive today.. From 1996 to 2001, she had been the biggest trendsetter of R&B. Her death was a huge loss for the music industry.
She's wasn't the biggest trendsetter that was Brandy for most the 90s. 2000/01 is when Aaliyah started to pick up. The main r&b girls in that grouping were Brandy, Monica Aaliyah and Mya. Not to mention artist like Toni Braxton, Whitney and Mariah Carey. Aaliyah was amazing but she really didn't begin to blow until closer to her unfortunate death. She was always around but was not the biggest start nor biggest trendsetter. The 90s pushed power vocalist Aaliyah was not one but she made great muisc and had her own style.
@@oddp61 I know death sometimes boost artists fame. But as somebody who lived in Europe ( Germany / Netherland ), i can tell you Aaliyah's popularity was much bigger than Brandy & Monica outside USA. The new young generation of Rnb singers were Destiny's Child, Aaliyah and Mya. Those 3 were already big outside USA.
Aaliyah would've had an empire by now, with her hands in fashion, beauty, music management, movies and directing. Would've been a beautiful thing to see.
Exactly, that's why I think beyonce had her killed so that her n her girl group could do all of that!! Beyonce saw her as a threat, she felt they couldnt be big with her in the game so they took her out. Smdh, weak shit
Yes, she was very smart and intelligent. She was a straight “A” student through out school. Even during the beginning of her career with her hectic schedule and travel, she continued to maintain her “A” average all the way to graduation.
@@Michael-ur5qb Yes, Unfortunately that’s what caused some older men to be attracted to her. She projected more maturity than many older women at that time, even though she was still very young.
AT that time obviously!! And before anyone trys saying she would have been more successful now than Beyonce BULLSHIT!! Just look at Brandy (who was bigger than Aaliyah) Ashanti etc none of them have successful careers anymore.
@@WatchYourMouth97 you're pathetic and unfortunately I feel like you need some psychiatric help because you obviously don't know ANYTHING. 😂 SELENA & AALIYAH each an angel in their own, both had their tremendous impacts on the Latino and the Black communities. They represent so much of the true virtues that make a Legend in the entertainment industry and positive role models in the youth (and all generations) of today and beyond. You made yourself look like the gum that sticks to my shoe even when I'm avoiding it. Just hateful 😌
@@WatchYourMouth97 Oh yes she is completely unpopular in America that is why her name is acknowledged by many American superstars today who love and respect her legacy and music in our American society. People like you are the reason why our country is divided so fuck you asshole.
@@MilkandCookies92 Thank you for honoring my Latino culture I also love Black culture too and I love and wish the best for everyone no matter what race, sexuality, or gender they are. #BlessYouAndYourCulture
Even after her passing throughout all these years, that has gone by, Aaliyah still looks fresh and fashionable trendy for 2020.. She was way ahead of her time. Beautiful soul..
She was a very fashionable girl the 90s 00s was amazing for fashion and ppl were obsessed with bright colorful clothing so was she imagine the looks she would have created with that perfect body she had 😍
Thats because she the queen of the damned. The took her and used her as an image for us too copy if we want to be excepted by the elites but the elites use rape and kill u after u are excepted
I agree. I love that sound she had on her albums. Sad that she's dead now because otherwise she DEFINITELY would've had a Beyoncé-like career. Oh well.
If Aaliyah was alive, I believe she would further her acting career. She just gonna be like any other 90’s artist such as Mya, Brandy, and Monica. Yeah she would make more albums but that’s overall. And this coming from Aaliyah fan. Gotta keep it real 💯
Thudas22 u can see the chemistry, these 2 were going to be best friends if Aaliyah was still alive they were going to be both queens n both A listers because they have different and unique style to each other, so if ppl are saying if she was still alive they will be no Beyoncé, there's no need to Hate , she'll be here but we would have had 2 queens.
I don't think so. Beyonce does have talent. They are both versatile. Aaliyah was the first to redefine the rnb sound and she had the voice of an angel and was a good actress, better than Beyonce, true. Beyonce is just a bit annoying. That's all.
Beyoncé walked into her life with SC and Aaliyah walked into a plane crash. Life is so unpredictable, keep your loved ones close and be nice to everybody.
