You lose Dorka and Lou to the WNBA. You have Azz, Jana and Caroline out who are starters. Also, Patterson who is a good defensive player and can rebound. Something that is needed right now as everyone can see. You replace them with 4 freshmen and people expect them to beat top 10 teams that are loaded with experience. All 3 games.on the road. Give it time. The freshmen are starting to improve. Starting to get it.
@mplou699 agreed. Not everyone can step right in and be the best player like Paige Buckets did. In fact it has never happened before Most freshmen start slow. They need to adjust to how fast and strong college players are. The perfect example is Caroline before she got hurt. She came in her freshman year and was bad her first 6 or 7 games. Then she showed some of her talent here and there. Then when Azzi and Paige got hurt. She averaged 17 points a game when they were out. She was the go to player during this part of the season. Unfortunately she got the concussion and has never been the same. It took her a while to adjust though.
If you compare this years early schedule to last years, it much more difficult this year! The losses so far were on the road against very good teams! 2 of the starters are out, 4 players seeing a lot of playing time are freshman, plus Beckers is returning from last seasons injury, its gonna be tough until they're deep into the league play next year! But don't be surprised if they make another deep run into the NCAA's!
Ive said for over a year. ASHLYN Shade would be our most productive freshman offensively. Creating separation off the dribble is something she does very effectively. It almost seems it's a lost art form KK is a player that will blow past you to the rim, but she really doesn't have a shooters game. With KK it's typically a layup or a jumper if the defender backs off of her. *Q Samuel's, her game is pretty much, no dribbling, if I touch it I'm shooting a long 2 or a 3. (Not to be weird, but am I the only one that thinks Q looks like a movie or tv star?) *Ice is another one, not much dribbling ability, but has a nice touch from the perimeter *And as for Paige, she still is favoring her knee, which I would do as well considering everything she's gone thru. She not the explosive Paige yet we saw during her first year but it will come. And when it does, the only scheme she'll need is to give her the ball, with a shoot first mentality, aka Caitlin Clark. Ashlyn is a much better overall offensive player than KK, so it would not surprise me at all if Geno goes with Paige, Nika, Ashlynn, Aubrey, and Aliyah as the starters very soon the rest of the season.
Congrats to the freshmen for showing out, too bad Edwards only shows up against weak teams, does Bueckers not understand if she doesnt score 30 points a game going ahead that this team has zero chances, Muhl night at the arena was nice...I guess.
Beating a ... bad team...yeah! Nika, everyone has an excuse ...stop it! Geno has not had any success in the last...how many years... His scouting and recruiting, has deteriorated, his passion has waned, and the results speak for themselves!
Geno has made the final four EVERY year except last when Paige was out, and was in the finals 2 years ago and would have been in the finals when Paige was a frosh if his bigs hadn't missed 17/23 layups against Arizona, certainly not his fault....no college coach should have to teach 6'3"-6'5" players to make layups. Your understanding of what success is has no bearing on reality
@@cbrend22 You are a simp, and deluded! Who cares about “final four”??? Win the Championship! True you should not have to teach them! They should know!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Just like I said: Recruiting, has been bad! Why would you recruit players wit Pre-existing injuries??? Azzi, comes to mind!
