Saucy Hooman no. She was able to finish all her scenes. The only thing they needed to do was re dub some of her lines. And that's where her brother Rashad comes in 💕💔
That’s hard to say because it’s not just her acting but also the film that she was in. I think at some point, if she was given a role where she could stretch her acting muscles and tap into her inner thespian, she couldve. No doubt that for the movies she did appear in, she was very good.
@@Lamarization Seriously! Why do people keep comparing them? It's not even close, in my opinion... Selena was a really good looking chick, but she's got nothing on Aaliyah...
I love the fact that Aaliyah mentions being in love with the "dark side" . We _all_ have that side of ourselves that we feel we need to hide, that side that revels in things we dare not reveal. I have one major gripe about this film, though. It greatly simplified Akasha's motives in the novel. In the book, throughout the almost six thousand years of her being a "living statue", Akasha had, through the Mind Gift (i.e. telepathy) experienced life through the minds of countless mortals and immortals across the globe. Such was her incredible power. She witnessed the abuse, wars and unhappiness caused by men, and as such, when she "awakened", her plan was to kill most of the human male population in an effort to put an end to the misery that had engulfed the world for millennia. How you interpret that position is entirely subjective - that's the beauty of Akasha's arguments as well the very grounded counter arguments of the vampires who defied her. Granted, Akasha wanted to rule over the Earth as the "Queen of Heaven", and be worshipped as such, so her royal mindset was definitely not lost during the almost six thousand years she remained dormant. I wish they had explored that more in the film. Akasha did a beautiful job as the film's version of Akasha, though.
MAN SHE WAS BEAUTIFUL, it's 2017 and I still can't believe that she's gone. No she isn't, never, we are here, we still love her, we remember the girl, the fantastic singer, this beautiful black woman (stunning) with the voice of an angel and gifted with so much talent. Aaliyah I'm sure, and I understand, that god wanted you by his side. Rest in peace my angel
+Doja Cat no offense i love it but its something i cant put my finger on about her its like she knew she wasnt gonna be here long so if u look in all of her pics and interviews you'll see that she looks completely different like she aged fast since she was in her early 20s at the time
@@AndreyaWryght from some reports about the plane crash I read that she had a weak heart, I noticed the last months of her life she looked really thin and tired for some reason when she was done filming this role she looked a little sick, still beautiful I just wish she was careful about some of the people she was around and hopefully played her cards right when she was here.
I miss her so much🥺 I literally think about her almost daily & have watched this movie 3 days in a row now. She was SO genuine! So REAL! Her music was beautiful! Her acting was SO GOOD! Just imagine what more she would’ve done within cinema & music 🥺😭❤️🙏🏼
...the accent is a dialect of a language called COPTIC...ancient... the gentleman that taught her...taught quite A few people for movies...the MUMMY FRANCHISE....THE TOM CRISE VERSION ALSO...AND THE MKVIE STARGATE...the gentleman was quite proud of his work with AALIYAH...and quite saddened when she died...
most people don't know she died before finishing this movie. She was supposed to have more scene. The end was actually supposed to be the middle. I am so upset she didn't to finished the movie and watch it. I wish life allow her at least to enjoy watching her project before taking her away. RIP baby girl. You are forever missed.
SOMEBODY USED HER CATWALK OUT THE BAR IN A MADE VIDEO FOR "WHAT IF" THAT WAS ON HER LAST CD "AALIYAH". IT IS REALLY GOOD THEY DID HER JUSTICE.💙💙👑👑🙏🏾🙏🏾💯💯💯
It's a pity women like her dont exist in the real world, i would serve such a queen in both life and death R.I.P Aaliyah my gorgeous queen of the damned
+Potato Chip Jones try metaphor, its being used alot nowadays in the modern world, awww poor little potato chip has been living under a rock, no wonder youre still in love with aaliyah
Sucks this movie could've been so much better I don't blame aaliyah cause she was perfect. Wrong Lestat casting and horrible director... Anne Rice was probably sickened
I agree with you they casted the wrong lesat Stuart Townsend did not play him well .He kept changing the accent which was confusing and was miming in the concert. Aaliyah played the villain brilliantly
The behind scenes should've been extended scene give everyone extra screen and dialogue in movie along deleted scenes and 2:05 intro was perfect than movie and 5:12 badass dialogue of Akasha and Maharet begging for jessie spare life was perfect close to material even certain dialogue "I know you lestat" and "I've had enough of this great family". Also 2:44 when she ask her ancient children "I want to hear it everyone of you should've kept it and the fact this had more dialogue and emotional moments , damn they drop the ball
i agree i wish death would've never taken her ,she was so talented , beautiful caring and a great person in general with her life ahead of her but death takes the best of us all sooner I suppose but maybe God needed another singer in his choir so he called her home 💀💀💀
All of these corrupt and murderous people live while an angels have to die while they live on. Not fuking fair! Rest In Power beautiful Aailyah. You are truly missed!
When you sign the pact with the devil he makes you what he wants my God you are no longer the master of you you become his slave for the rest of your life is the reality of Aaliyah under mind control
yeah dude, i still rock out to the soundtrack. The singer from korn wrote the music, it's fantastic. and i agree, even though Aaliyah shined, it wasn't bright enough for you to overlook the GROSS inaccuracies of the entire film thanks :)
It's interesting to hear her brother say he enjoys watching her movies, videos, & listening to her music because she loved her work and enjoyed what she did. I never thought about it like that. For the longest I couldn't watch or listen to anything Aaliyah related cause it just brought back all the memories of how she died and her being gone. I still have a hard time watching or listening to Rock the Boat.
It's 2017 and I still feel this way....for the longest time, I couldn't listen/ it hurt to listen to any of her songs, especially 'rock the boat' & 'miss you'. But I love her music so much, I feel empty not hearing her beautiful music....so I listen to 'rock the boat' all most daily and can not bring myself to remove the song from my playlist. MISS YOU SO MUCH BABYGIRL!!
Wow...I'm happy to see I'm not alone. I couldn't watch or listen to "Rock the Boat" for some time. I was 12 when she passed, but I think I repressed my feelings, since I couldn't make sense of everything. Now that I'm having an "Aaliyah Video Binge" after watching "Surviving R. Kelly", my 30 year old self is able to procress things better. I was able to have a good grieving process.
omg I've never seen a lot of these clips!! Thanks for uploading, I subscribed. I never actually liked the film, I found it quite boring, but whenever Aaliyah came on scene she basically saved it, and the carnage scene is one of the best entrances I've seen.
@Joyce Williams I didn't miss the point I understand what she's saying but my point is most men don't want to submit to their mate. Even if it's a Queen. And yes Lestat is a lesser vampire I don't understand why Akasha even wanted Lestat it's like Beyonce wanting Jay Z 😂😂😂.
His reasoning in the movie for killing her was trash compared to his reasoning in the book. They messed up bad trying to force that romantic relationship between Jessie and Lestat. I guess that was the only way they could tie it all together in such a short time frame.
@@cu5864 I can't believe they made Lestat sexy vampire but they made him have bad taste picking this boring human woman. And they made a vampire Queen pick a lesser vampire in love with a human Everybody in this movie had bad taste in finding lovers 🙄🙄🙄
@@Firespawnable Lol. Right? I actually really liked Jessie in the book. She had depth...all of them did. They were committed to their beliefs in the book and in the movie they were too busy trying to be sexy vampires. I still liked the movie but compared to the book it was an disappointing failure.
The world lost such a wonderfully talented young woman. The future was hers. Thusly, ours as well in that we would benefit from her music and film. R.I.P. Aaliyah!
The only good thing this film has worked with was Aaliyah. I hated this adaptation but this beautiful and talented young woman has played Akasha perfectly. Just as I imagined, too bad that the rest of the film was such an awful quality :( It lets her shine, though
Exactly. The movie quality is the equivalent of something out of the early 90s, it's so odd. Plus the movie hardly focused on the story and instead danced off into more foolish parts only to get into the story.
Lady Ruby as for people who say aaliyah and Whitney and left eye are in hell? i disagree with that JESUS CHRIST didn't die and come back to life so thier souls can remain in hell no. when Jesus got up aaliyah Whitney and everyone who fell they rose with Jesus in the spirit realm.so never be quick yo assume were someone's soul is.
Yes indeed he is 😍😏. I wonder what he is doing now. Is he still doing behind the scenes work cuz I know when his twin died I could tell that was gonna change him forever I just hope he continued to do what he was great at. I know when Aaliyah died alot of them fell off with there music and life especially timberland but now his back killing the game again and he no longer is on drugs I'm so proud of him.
+ally d stay in your lane, i was speaking for the majority, u and the minority Group of. anne rice who ever she, stay mad. and u must be a fan as well why else would u be watching this video. and u big and bad behind a fucking phone or keyboard if u want say shit to my face dont say it here. u are dismissed.
you go eat shit, do you think just because you are "majority" following a singer you can insult a writer like that? go eat shit and listen to your rapper while I read good books. You stay in your lane and shut the fuck up
"she was the only reason anyone watched it." Those were your insulting words. If you don't want to be trolled, DO NOT TROLL. And come kill me if you want me to shut up, you looked for it then STAND IT as a "man" you are, not offering your needle harassing as you also did.
I wish Akasha/Aaliyah was in more of the film. I think that's one of the reasons it didn't do as well as it could have (the directing and dialogue could have been better). It's called the "Queen of The Damned" I don't see how it made any sense for The Queen to only be in half of the film.
necro post but.. as i understood it, she was meant to have more scenes but died before completion , hence the small amount of her in the actual movie :(
+ndaemon1718 Nah that had nothing to do with it :/ filming was from late 2000 to early 2001 … it's just a poorly written and produced movie unfortunately. Not utilising Aaliyah's talents more is just an example of them fucking it up. Anne Rice who wrote the books hates it.
John Arundell well i dont liek anne rice's books myself. they are dreary and long winded. to me the movie was perfect, tho ofcourse mroe Aaliyah couldnt hurt :). But it comes down to taste ofcourse.. some love this movie.. some dont. thats how it will always be :)
Actually, both explanations here are wrong! She had few scenes and shot time because the movie, despite having her name (the queen of the damned), is a compilation of two different titles by Anne Rice. Therefore, only from the middle of the movie on was the part based on the proper QOTD novel.
