Did y’all know that water scene was completely real? She had to swim in about 13 feet of water… her air supply wouldn’t work, so she went all in and did this scene naturally… with lifeguards by her side… I’m so grateful for access granted… definition of a full on entertainer… maaannn why Aaliyah had to take that flight 🥺🥺🥲🥲🥲
Exactly Also there’s video footage of Aaliyah having trouble with her air supply and you can see the fear in her face because she couldn’t go under water and breathe and they quickly realize that she was having issues and she decided to just naturally swim under herself in 13 feet of water which is extremely dangerous if you don’t know how to swim thank God she knew how to swim and she did the damn thing naturally with lifeguards right by her side just in case something didn’t go right or if she started having issues, she loved her Job and I now can watch this video without crying or getting angry about what happened after this video was made, I now know things happen for a reason and she left us with her gift and light & who am I to get angry at the bad thing went she would have wanted us all to be happy ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.
Wasn't. The song was originally presented in demo by Static when work began on what would be her third album, which was supposed to be in 1998. At the time, the song was deemed to mature and held. She never recorded the song at that time. She went on to do movies before coming back to finish the album
@@gemkey10 there’s a whole interview of her talking about how she recorded this song specifically between 98-01. The album was in production already. It takes a few years to make a great album. I know exactly what I’m talking about. As I’ve been an AALIYAH fan forever!!! I’ve seen every interview and have done my research! Thanks for your opinion tho. But I have some faaacts for ya!
I still know the dance to this and "More than a Woman" at 41 years old. I loved her so much. It was like losing my sister. Just to think she would of been 42 this year. 😥
See this is what I’m talking about! Lol I get jealous when the younger generation acts like they love her too. I’m saying y’all wasn’t around she ain’t y’all’s lol
Today Aug. 25th makes 20 years 😪. Its so bitter sweet man cause we all miss her so so much & her spirit is so alive still through her music & movies that its hard to except she is really gone 20 years later 💔.
That all white boat scene was the day she passed. Sooooooo sad!! Her future here on Earth was sooo bright and promising! She was affiliated with Roc-a-fella who were dominating the game from 2001 and on. Music, film, and fashion would of been hers. RIP.
I’ll never forget the moment I heard the news that we lost our queen. I called my mom at work screaming. I was devastated. She will always be a legend. Also, 90’s and early 2000’s R&B music was the best ever.
Aaliyah is my idol :) I miss her everyday! So glad her music is finally getting officially released! She made music for us to listen to and enjoy and I’m glad she’s still thriving despite everything that’s happened
Aaliyah is a LEGEND even after being gone for 20yrs and an ICON a true QUEEN and she acted as one she really was the true definition of a QUEEN 👸 R.i.p to the QUEEN AALIYAH
I have a shirt with her, Selena Quintanilla-Perez, and Lisa Lopez(Left Eye) on it. It was a birthday present, and the best present ever. All three of them as well as several other artists who passed left too soon.
Aaliyah’s first album Age Ain’t nothing but a number sold 9 million copies worldwide then her second album One in a million sold 14 million worldwide then her third album Self titled AALIYAH sold 17 million worldwide and her fourth album I care 4 you sold 5 million worldwide and then her album ultimate Aaliyah sold 3 million worldwide and the Romeo must die soundtrack sold 4 million worldwide and way more soundtracks damnnn she contributed and achieved so much in such a short time 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
@@jozyhur585 those album sales are updated ,these are sales figures updated in winter specifically December 29 2020 where all albums from the 90s and early 00s were updated and Aaliyah was in that list. So don’t muthafuckin try me 🙃
Specific Big Albums are updated on a global scale meaning worldwide every 15 years these albums are albums from a specific decade Ect, 70s,80s,90s,00. This is why for Example Michael Jackson’s Thriller album was updated a couple months ago because the last time it was updated was December 12th 2007.Additionally winter is the time slot for this genre which listed as Blues,RnB and hip hop and updated on a global scale every15 years. They do different genres updated in different seasons of the same year every 15 years. 🙂💥
I remember the day I found out. I was 12, just got home from school. Sat down at my desk and turned on my plumped purple boombox and I had caught the end of her song playing with a voice suddenly coming on in the back ground saying "Rest In Peace...etc" and I sobbed. I had to call my "sister" (shout out to besties of over 20 years!!) and we cried on the phone together. She was beautiful, her dancing was amazing, and her voice, irreplaceable.
@@Ahhlexxo School started for me on the 24th or 25th of August, every year. My dumbass didn't find out until that Monday. You made me go back and collect on that date. I'm just gonna defend myself and say....The point still remains the same. lol Her passing was something none of us were prepared for and it was profound. My story was legit aside from the actual day. For that, truly y'all, my bad. And I miss my boombox.
I was only 6 months old when Aaliyah died I fell in love with her music back in 2015 when I was 14 now I’m 20 and still Rick with her music there will never be another Aaliyah Dana Haughton can’t believe it’s been 20 years Continue Rest In Peace Babygirl 🙏🏿🕊😢💔
I remember hearing the news that she passed away I was 12 years old at the time and I absolutely was in love with her then and still until this day I appreciate y’all for this reaction and please do more #RIP #AALIYAH♥️
My bro was a huge fan of Aaliyah, had his bedroom covered in posters of her ❤ I still remember as clear as day waking up to news of her passing and having to wake my bro up to him know... 😔
The red album is going to be streaming in a few weeks. That’s like my favorite album of all time along with full moon by brandy and butterfly by Mariah✨ I loved how singers really put out a body of cohesive work.
The video is so beautiful but sad at the same time, I was 13 years old when she passed and I remember when it flash across my tv screen and we all just was shocked and crying went to school and the whole school was sad to the point teachers were concerned about everybody. A tragic lost #RestInPeaceAaliyah 20 years later
I was 7yrs when she died, don’t want to blame my momma lol but I use to stay up late every night watching BET and MTV I learned who Aaliyah was at a young age. Most beautiful women I’ve ever seen till this day I was literally addicted to the rock the boat video and one in a million 😭💯
New Subscriber Here!! Y’all did a great reaction. She definitely did get me through a lot. About 1 month after she died (2 weeks after my 12th birthday) I ended up getting sick & my kidneys shut down. I was in the hospital for 7 months & her music was the only thing that kept me going.
Sorry to hear all that happened to you so young. Glad you made it through and you were strong. 💪🏽 Thanks for the sub we appreciate you, welcome to the family 🙌🏾🙏🏾
Bahamas is so peaceful and beautiful my family and I went on a carnival cruise to Nassau, Bahamas in what 2010 and that was the most fun I ever had. Aaliyah was such a kind soul and we won't have music like the 90s-early 00s some of the best music came out at that time and we lost a couple of people along the way but the legacy is shared through their music.
I'm not a stan for anyone cause I'm not like these crazy people, but if I had to pick someone, it would have been for Aaliyah. I was in the 10th grade when she passed away. 💔 It hit me so hard that it took years for me to even be able to listen to her music again or watch her videos. I loved her so much. She'll forever be our Baby Girl. 💖🤎🖤 Y'all gotta do Are You That Somebody and Up Jumps Da Boogie.
I was 16 when she passed away. I remember coming home from school and my stepdad told me he heard one of my favourite singers passed away but didn’t know the name. I looked it up and found out it was Aaliyah. I had just bought her single at the time We Need a Resolution. I couldn’t bring myself to listen to it for a long time… was so devastated… RIP baby girl.
Gone too soon i was only a little girl when she died she was so talented forever a icon this song is my fav react to more videos of her ! rip Aaliyah 🕊
Yyyaasss you hit the head on the nail with that 💯💯. Definitely timeless like Sade you could literally drop this video in 2022 and it would’ve ate with the visuals, vocals and choreography 🔥💕🔥💕… Fun fact:: Aaliyah was a big fan of Sade and they share the same bday… two gorgeous authentic artists🤩 my favs…
She died after filming this music video, the plane was leaving the island, when it crashed, Whitney said she was supposed to play Sparkle, but she died and Whitney said she put the movie on hold until they got jordan sparks
This was her last video before she died in the Bahamas, where all of the island scenes were shot. The scene where she"s dancing in the water was shot behind a green screen on a sound stage in Miami, just before she went to the Bahamas to finish shooting the rest of the video.
The scenes of her all in white is the same day she and the others died. She finished the scenes early then they got on a smaller boat( the infamous pic of them smiling and waving goodbye) to go pack then they went to the airport.
Y'all tryna make me cry my favorite scene was when she floating in the water she looked so pretty she couldn't swim but they made that scene work I remember when she was supposed to be in the matrix 2
I was 16 the day she passed. I was working at jewels at the checkout line. Some guys came in saying Aaliyah died. Im thinking they were talking about someone they knew. Then more ppl started talking about it. Someone in the building put the radio news report on the loud speaker. I just stood there shocked & crying. And for this to be her last video. 😭😭😭
Blackground records is her Uncle Barry Hankenson label he did not release her music because Aaliyah mother his sister did not want him to because it was too painful for them
