Widows of Vrindavan are a marginalised and neglected population. Widows are considered to be inauspicious and shunned by society. Maitri works actively with 500 widows, where it promotes respect and dignity for the widow mothers. Maitri provides a nutritious mid day meal to 500 widows everyday with supplements. Maitri also provides health care and organises regular health clinics and periodic multi speciality health camps. Sir, quick question, if the doctors too have heart for those who are not that fortunate. Also, why today's hospitals are so commercial, and doctors the ways to mint money from patients? Has India really lost all the satisfaction which they used to gain by helping the needy. Being a doctor used to be perhaps a noble job ...?
