When tracks on the all wheels, it makes the machine more stable and heavier but also makes more hard to turn. When tracks only rear (diesel motor side) and tire chains in front (harvesterhead side) makes the machine lighter and more agile to turn but, the tire chains need more maintenance. I hate every chains in tires. So much need to maintenance. Have to tighten and repair often. Tracks no need to do anything. Only tighten but very rarely. I haven't seen ever, anyone uses tracks only in front I mean the harvesterhead side. In forwarder the front is diesel side and rear the logging side. And harvesters in the other way
And, we use different kind of tracks for different purposes. All tracks makes more stable and most of tracks helps for performance in steep hills. Also for the soft soil and swamp areas has"load-bearing" track types.
@@danilehti Alright thank you Dani. I was watching a video of Logset 12H harvester with tracks like yours in the front (cab end) and only and bare rubber lugs in the back (engine end). So I learned something today!
