the song requires big lungs and a large breath to sing.. the hiccup strategically helped at the shortage of breath, while at the same time helped create the raunchy effect.. the original composer and the singers were genius a class apart. changing it to a lower pitched voice made it even more difficult to sing, and to strategically hiccup..I saw her slightly gasping for breath after 2:23 around.. much difficult to sing in a lower scale.. she did a great job..
