Think about it. What would be the result of Pyles following up on that, even if he were able to get Brooks to talk about it. It would reflect badly on PSU and the NLWC. How would Cael and company feel about that, and more importantly to Pyles, how would they feel about giving Pyles and FLO future access to their programs and wrestlers? I guess you weren't around a number of years ago when Pyles seemed to suggest some action for PSU on the part of Cael during an interview, and Cael responded with "Do you have a plan?", shutting Pyles up immediately and embarrassing him. Pyles is on eggshells around Cael, PSU and NLWC. He knows that he needs access, as we're talking about the top NCAA program as well as the most important training center and club for Senior Men's Freestyle. Look at the Final X results: there will be 5 NLWC wrestlers representing the US at Worlds. NLWC provides 50% of the US team, and that doesn't even mention that the NLWC had three wrestlers (Gilman, Nolf, Brooks) who did NOT win. Pyles is all about continued access.

As a Christian parent of a young wrestler I am quite thankful for this young man. He is one of the best but instead of singing a chorus of "me, me, me" he gives all his credit to God. We all know it is his hard work and coaches that got him there but he knows it is God who gives him the ability to even step on the mat. When I see the decay of society I am proud and thankful to see a young man put God first. I'm glad my little dude has someone like this to watch. His mission is bigger than wrestling and it is to lead people to Christ. With more practice and experience I'm sure he will become as good at it as he has at wrestling. Every Christian should use their platform to point to Christ whether you are wrestler, baseball player, or greeter at Walmart. He is simply following the last commandment given by Jesus. In time he will round off the edges and become more eloquent, until then I'mjust thankful he tries. I would think a world full of young men like him would be a much better world indeed.

Yeah I like Brooks but it's very cringe when he does that. Like explain why your under-hook is better than Yazdani, instead he just says god gave me my under-hook. Love his talent but sometimes it seems like he doesn't know how to speak on what makes him good without attributing it all to believing in god.
