The thing that sets Aaron apart from all other QBs in history, including Mahomes, is the precision he’s still able to achieve without a platform. Marino had the precision but couldn’t do it off platform, and Mahomes can do it off platform but doesn’t have the same precision. Mix in the arm strength of Favre and you basically have Aaron rodgers. Dude is the BOAT.
@@enriquebedolla9404 it was a combination of defensive chokes by GB and Rodgers being under pressure all game from the Buccs elite defense, and getting sacked 5 times.
I'm a bit older so although I really like J.N. I remember the combo of James Lofton and John Jefferson. If that wasn't enough they had Paul Coffman as a TE. Gerry Ellis out of the backfield. QB? One of the most accurate passers I have ever seen. Lynn Dickey. The problem was the Offensive line and Lynn was NOT very mobile at all.
Best QB I’ve ever seen play the game of football. Period. Strictly from a skill and talent perspective, A Rod made plays and throws that only he could make. No bandwagon, I’m a Lions fan. Yes Brady won more, doesn’t make him better from a raw football perspective… thoughts?
One aspect of Rodgers abilities that is often overlooked is the way he develops receivers because when his best receivers begin at Green Bay, they are rough around the edges but over time they become dangerous weapons based upon the relationship Rodgers cultivates.
A lot of people recently have been comparing Mahomes to Aaron... IMO it's not as close as you think. Aaron has a much more minimal & quicker release. You can see Mahomes wind up on his throws. AR also has more nuance to his throws and can adjust his velocity, height & distance, to make it easier on his receivers or throw them open from literally anywhere on the field.
If you put 10 different throws on here instead of these 10, I'd still be like "yeah this list is correct" Rodgers is the GOAT. Idc what anyone thinks, he is the GOAT and if you open your eyes and watch the shit he pulls off week after week, it's very clear he is. Even in his bad games he has a few throws only him or Mahomes could make
@@ohinatabae8772 tbh I really don't care about QBs winning/losing cause there's a ton that is out of a QB's control that affects the game. A QB can't control how many points his defense allows or how well the opposing QB plays. Brady benefits by far the most from 1 in a million things out of his control going his way. As long as a QB plays well then that is fine in my book
His td pass to Richard Rodgers in the 2014 Divisional Rd vs the Cowboys is the best pass ive ever seen. He was fading to his left on a torn calf and he threw an absolute strike between 2 defenders to the back of the endzone right before getting smashed by another defender. Should've been on this list without question.
I think the throw to Jennings on 3rd and long in 4th quarter at the Super Bowl belongs on this list. The Hail Mary’s are nice (especially the Detroit one) but there is still a lot of luck involved. That throw to Jennings was such an incredible throw in the biggest game Packers have played during Rodgers career. Watch the highlights. Truly a game of inches.
@@michaelwill7811 hard for the team to play well when the quarterback shits the bed in all 5 of the championship games he’s played in. The team was able to carry him through the championship game against the Bears but unfortunately that was it.
@@bigstar66 Really? Let's see: 2021 championship game stats: 20/29 completion ratio of 69%, 225yds for a 7.8 average, zero interceptions... all in all, a passer rating of 91.9 I find it hard to believe these are the stats of a QB who, as you so elegantly said, "shit the bed." Brady, for the same playoff run, had a passer rating of 90. In fact, Brady's CAREER playoff passer rating is 90.4 Rodgers? 100.1 If Brady is the "goat", and Aaron Rodgers has a better passer rating in the playoffs... Have a nice day!
@@michaelwill7811 he didn’t even bother showing up for the first half, he turned the interceptions his defense handed him into nothing, and he pussied out on 1st and goal. It was his best championship game performance and he STILL shat the bed. LOL at you bringing up passer rating, as if that’s ever won anything.
All due respect to Brady...and I really mean that...but he couldn't make the throws that Rodgers has made. The #5 throw against the Cowboys is the sickest I've ever seen. On a dime...on the sideline...absolutely no room for error. And against his momentum! What a shame that the Packers of the past haven't been able to put a team around him (particularly on the defensive side) to win. Rodgers is the true GOAT.
I'm glad you kept that last pass in there, even though the penalty brought it back. It remains my top Rodgers throw of all time. Throwing that far on a dime is impressive enough, but while being tackled, with no platform to throw from shows why he is special.
Rodgers: makes insane throw after insane throw to put his team in a position to win. Gets them into OT, defense gives up the game. Most people be like “Rodgers choked!” Brady: throws zero touchdowns and 1 interception, still gets carried to super bowl win over Rams by his defense. Most people be like “Brady did it again! GOAT GOAT GOAT”
The throw to Janis is one that still amazes me, not too mention the first throw to Janis on that same drive. That Janis scenario sums up McCarthy as a head coach and how he wasted 5 yrs of Rodgers prime. You can play to win the game with a 2pt conversion and let your best player dictate the outcome of the game. Or you can decide to kick the extra point (which isn’t a gimme) and Hope to win in OT with the chance of never touching the ball. You let Rodgers decide the outcome of the game with a 2pt conversion every single time!!
greatest quarterback of all time if we are just taking about pure talent. Brady has the intangibles that sets him apart but Rodgers was born to make big time throws.
The intangible for Brady is luck. How else do you explain team after team somehow screwing up chip shots and dropped passes when they make them every other time?
It seems like what makes him so great is his complete faith in his teammates. In the cardinals clips he throws it right to two people on the cardinals in the end zone but his teammate runs up in time to yank it away from them.
Rodgers has the best arm and some of the best footwork in history. Not to mention his football iq. Just a beast. Good job getting number 1 right. That was absolutely insane. Whether it counted or not And christ did Janis have some hops or what
kinda hard to say he has great footwork, he arm threw more than anybody in league history. High school and college coach would bench you if you attempt Rodgers or Mahomes stuff
That cardinals game could have gone down as the greatest win ever if the packers actually won I mean TWO 50 years throws with like 20 seconds left is unreal such a shame the special teams is so shit
That came 2 plays after a similar play that should have been on this list too. 4th and 20 from the 4 yard line rolling to his left to Janis for 60 yards
The fact that defenders try to specifically use all of their athletic ability to try to stop the play from occurring and still end up short is incredible
Excellent video! I really like the mix of interviews, radio calls from Wayne and Larry, TV broadcast audio, etc. Seeing the throws from multiple angles and speeds increases my appreciation of what it takes to do something like what Rodgers does on a weekly basis.
Mahomes is great, huge fan but Aaron is in another stratosphere because of his intellect and much forgotten toughness... he doesnt really get injured and is super dependable. The Packs would fold like lawn chairs in the winter if he left, whoevers idea of drafting Love with out Arods blessing should resign in shame.
This list misses the 3rd down completion to Greg Jennings in the Superbowl which iced the game for GB. It's still the most incredible throw I've seen. There was only place and one place only he could have put the ball to complete that pass and he put it there. These are all great, but that's the greatest.
...while rolling to the left and barely planting - and without defensive PI, it was right on target. I think that's as great a throw as I've ever seen!
Post game this year he recalled a game from several years ago and called out the other teams d backs by name and what they were trying to do to him. It was case study in his brain power,
Flat out the best play making QB in history. Combo of timing, arm strength, balance, decision making, smarts, field awareness and competitiveness are nonpareil. If only he had some bloody defenses to help over the years. Should have three or so rings.
The fact that my favorite Aaron rodgers pass isn’t here speaks volumes I think😭 if you’re interested, 2014 Playoffs against Cowboys split the needle touchdown pass to Richard Rodgers while rolling to his left on a bad leg.
The night before that playoff game I had a dream about it. It was 100% accurate. In the dream the Cowboys got the ball first and the defense forced a punt. Then I remembered one offensive play for the Packers. It was the amazing pass to Richard Rodgers in the back of the endzone. I was expecting that TD on the Packers' first series, but as it turned out it was tjhe game-winner. But it looked exactly like it did in my dream. I agree, that throw should be on this video and in the Top 3.
#5 might be my favorite. Against the Cowboys? In the playoffs? In a game they had no business winning? It was on the run, flick of the wrist type throw, and complete with a one-in-a-thousand type catch? One of the best in NFL history. I'll never forget watching this absolutely hysterical play live
How do you make a Top 10 Aaron Rodgers Throws and not have 1 Jordy Nelson clip? Those 2 guys had some insane chemistry. Rodgers could throw the ball 5 or more feet out of bounds and Jordy would catch it stretched horizontal with his toes in bounds. They were unstoppable.
Nobody talks about Rodgers being the best or one of the best of all time because he doesn’t have a lot of rings, but the thing is that he hasn’t had a great O-line 90% of the time. He is by far the SMARTEST player to play the game and has probably the best precision on the run/scramble and deep ball , not to mention probably the strongest arm in the game.
You know Rodgers is one of the best if not the best QB ever overall because he is still doing what he is doing at his old age and he is still winning MVP’s
Anyone who's watched him play or looks at his stats knows this is true. Haters try way too hard to use his rings against him. I guess winning matters more than how well you play in a team sport now 😂😂. Somebody go tell peyton manning terry bradshaw is better than him and belongs in the GOAT convo over him.
There is little more important to the game of football than the relationship between a Quarterback and his linemen. The Packers may not have the best unit in the league, but as a former Offensive Lineman you can see in their eyes how much they respect him, that desire to do everything they can to protect him. Of course, this is an Aaron Rodgers video so I must add something about the GOAT too, Aaron Rodgers remains the most precise and accurate QB the league has ever seen, enough said.
I’m getting older but I do remember 95% of those throws and catches I miss Jordy Nelson as well but Aaron has another tremendous receiver to throw into
Rodgers is truly a premisr passer with some great recievers in each of these plays. Got to give it to the passsr then the reciever. Such a blessing to see over the years. Only afew in tbe history of fb afe that great. Consistently
I like how honest he is and not afraid to buck the system for freedom In The USA against liars and misinformation in the press and standing for the truth and not blindly following bs rules. The high school I graduated from had the same kind of uniforms.
If it wasnt for DPI that throw against the Lions would be the best throw of all time. 70+ yards in the air while rolling to his left is just absolutely insane
Absolutely no one gonna talk about how Troy Polamalu came out of the end zone like a great white shark and absolutely FLATTENED Jennings... I physically gasped at the hit imagining how i would be literally crippled for the rest of my natural life, like oh my actual god, he was airborne on the hit lmfao!!!
and still held on to the ball to score. Jennings pissed me off with all his trash talk about Rodgers but i will say in GB with Aaron they were a great duo
Unfortunately the media has forgotten all of this and has anointed Mahomes the greatest talent to have ever walked the planet. The same thing they all said about Rodgers 5 years ago. When he had talent around him, Rodgers is still the best I've ever seen as of February of 2023. A great scrambler, super quick snap release, a howitzer of an arm, and as accurate as any QB who ever played. Yes he had a down year and he is getting older but he still has a top 5 arm at age 39. Talent wise I think Allen has the most potential, but he is too arrogant and thinks he can do it all and sometimes he can. He has the strongest arm, by far but for some reason the media now hates him also. I would like to see Rodgers go to a different team and have a chance to showcase his talent with some better receivers. Maybe Vegas.
If someone told me Aaron Rodgers sold his soul to the devil in order to be this good at QB, I wouldn't question it. He always looks like he just puts in medium effort, yet somehow he is the best in the business.
*AND THIS IS WHY QB AARON ROGERS IS THE OTHER G.O.A.T.!!* *THESE QB's SHOULD BE RECOGNIZED AS THE BEST QB OF ALL TIME!!* *ARRON ROGERS REALLY IS AN ANOINTED QB!!*
I shared Rodgers' grievances as I'm sure many Packers fans did far before he held out this season. Another player (amongst Jennings, Driver, Jordy, Cobb, etc.) that the team let go and I can't understand why was Jared Cook. They definitely had chemistry and made some clutch plays (#5 was epic). Cook is still looking good these days in Los Angeles. Great video, btw. Thank you!
Marino was my #1 for the longest time but Rodgers edged him out as his ability to move and throw under pressure was just better. Both are all time greats though.
thank god this guy is finally out of our division. i swear he'd make at least one headscratching throw per game that just made you think how the hell did he just do that. He was the best at fitting throws in to receivers where they had no option but to catch it.
#1 was the day I became a fan of his. I never watched/paid any attention to football before that. Saw that play and was like "maybe this guy isn't so bad"
