The Warthog is a very affordable suppressor but does not give up any of the features that many of us look for in a duty ready suppressor. From it's built in flash hider to it's ability to take any of your favorite QD mountain systems, the AB Suppressor Warthog is Budget Friendly & Duty Ready right out of the box.

Same materials as polonium K , but I've watched a video of full auto on the AB 556 and the baffles had major erosion, while the polonium K held up just fine

I’ve only handled a few suppressors. The mounting part is where I get lost. If understood correctly. Any mount with matching thread will work on this.
@PrescottCaliberClub
@PrescottCaliberClub Год назад
There are a few standard mounting thread pitches. It’s usually one of those and you order the correct base plate or muzzle device and it will thread on. If you don’t have threads on your barrel then you need to take the gun to a gunsmith or machine shop to have the barrel threaded.

Are they user serviceable? No-one ever talks about the cleaning of the Wharthog
@artyomg7515
@artyomg7515 2 месяца назад
No, besides the front cap and the hub adapter, you can't take the can apart. Those baffles are welded in place. But it's still ultrasonic cleaner safe.
@PrescottCaliberClub
@PrescottCaliberClub Месяц назад
That’s because they’re not. They’re sealed at then muzzle end so you can’t reach the baffles.

do you have the bravo or charlie asr mount? im loving the setup. about to get my first can as this! thanks and subbed.
@PrescottCaliberClub
@PrescottCaliberClub 3 месяца назад
No I do not have them. I only have this setup. Years ago before I bought most of my cans, I found this muzzle device and loved it so I just tried to run as many ASRs as I could on my stuff. My first can was an Omega 300 and that sucker can go on almost any rifle in my safe that’s 7.62 or lower in caliber.

Love your videos man, Would you consider this hearing safe on a 10.5 in 556 Ak pistol? I have several thousand rounds of xm193 ammo that I will be using exclusively on the pistol
@PrescottCaliberClub
@PrescottCaliberClub 5 месяцев назад
I wouldn’t say hearing safe. But it’s a lot closer than no can that’s for sure.

Good video, especially the comparisons to flash hiding and sound at both the muzzle and ear, overall seems to be a pretty impressive beast and my dad was stationed down at Davis Monthan (sp?) in Tucson for like 8 or 9 years so being an A-10 base living off a wash that was regularly cruised down low, I’m a huge A-10 fan although on an A-10 base, it isn’t a warThog it’s a Warhog which is what was painted on the sides of most, if not all, their planes. You don’t have it on your website yet so will be interesting to see what the price actually is plus the price for whatever budget oriented mount is required in addition to the can to actually install it given that the AB Reflex mount is in the $250 neighborhood and give. prices I saw on other sites, with the tax stamp it would appear to just barely be a sub $1000 can. Also note, your sale price vs MSRP appears to be flipped on your AB page. Would be really nice to hear it on a 5.56 outside a promo video given the it should be a lot louder than the 300 Blackout. Would also be really interesting to hear how a 7.62 can does with 5.56 or .223 since as you know, that would be a possible choice for flexibility. Thinking about getting a .308 hunting/precision rifle later this year for deer and hog hunting so we can afford to eat meat…
@PrescottCaliberClub
@PrescottCaliberClub Год назад
I’ll get them listed on there asap. I forgot to get that done. They are $550 for 5.56 and $600 for 7.62 and that’s with the flush mount. If you want a different QD mounting system attached I can order whichever one and add that for you too.
@inmyimage1081
@inmyimage1081 Год назад
@@PrescottCaliberClub So out of the box you can just remove the stand flash hider and then directly screw this can onto the barrel if I’m understanding things correctly right? Might be a useful video to talk about the various mounting options for cans and the benefits and differences between other types/brands of mounts because I don’t see much based on the fact that you still had to screw it onto the mount and with the mount on, it means you now have a flash hider inside the can so does that add some sort of performance benefit?
@PrescottCaliberClub
@PrescottCaliberClub Год назад
@@inmyimage1081 yep, exactly. And if you want to add the fancy Quick Detach stuff you can do that also.

The version you showed in this video is the 7.62 variant? Does that come with a 5.56 end cap as well or do you have to purchase that separately?
@PrescottCaliberClub
@PrescottCaliberClub 4 месяца назад
They make a 7.62 and a 5.56 version. I chose the 7.62 because I can also run it on 5.55. But I believe it’s a sealed can at the front.

Could I get away with getting the warthog 762 for my 6.5CM bolt gun and use that for my 556 AR platform? I’ll just have to get matching thread adapters for the 556? Thanks in advance.

Can I put this on a 10.3 mk18 ported?
@PrescottCaliberClub
@PrescottCaliberClub 9 месяцев назад
This wouldn’t work on a ported barrel. You’d need a standard threaded barrel. Then you choose a QD system and attach the muzzle device to the threaded barrel. And the QD mount attaches to the suppressor. This way you can choose to use whichever quick detach system you prefer, regardless of the brand.

I do not have one for the 300 blackout. I would go check out AB Suppressor's youtube channel or maybe even their website. They may be able to send you the details if you email them directly as well.

Can you take it apart to clean it?
@PrescottCaliberClub
@PrescottCaliberClub Год назад
You can open the ends but the “spiral” baffles are welded together. Most rifle cans don’t recommend cleaning due to how hot they get and the theory that they somewhat clean themselves, however I have to think eventually they gunk up and at the least reduce the suppression abilities.

No worse than anything else with a similar design. Their Raptors are really good for that as they have flow through design.
