Just passing by but can't help not commenting listening to the kid dreaming of wealth and a big house. When I was 7 my aunt and cousins from USA came to visit and stayed for a few days in our small hollow blocks house in the province. I unmindfully said loudly to my tatay and nanay that they should have built a nice big house, buy us battery operated toys and unlimited candies and chocolates like what my cousins have. That incident was long forgotten. Fast forward to meeting my aging aunt again in 2015. Among our many topics of conversation shoots back to that day. She said "didn't you know later that night your late tatay had tears in his eyes as he wished for you and your brother to have what other kids have but he and your nanay just don't have the means"
