Hi guys, in this video I take you through an old blue stone villa built in 1905 and a very interesting history but a sad fate. This property and the one next to it which is an iconic Adelaide Party supply store Peter Van the Party man fall victim to an intersection upgrade that initially was going to bypass them but a change to a Liberal government sealed their fate when the altered the plans and made the extension straight over them. Much history here and a lot of sad locals who are passionate about history and preserving it. Hope you enjoy.

Hi Paul, thank you again for taking the time to document these beautiful old buildings; what you are doing is so important to be able to keep a record of the gorgeous old buildings we once had. Before long all our cities will be filled with horrendous modern things made from MDF and concrete blocks, they will never be documented because they won't stand long enough to be worthy of it. Here in Tassie we have slowly stared to realise the worth of our heritage. I live in a 63sq 1897 Victorian 2 storey house and most of my friends can't understand why I put so much time and money into the upkeep. I wish there were more people like you and me about. Cheers mate 👍👍

What a beautiful home and property...those floors are pristine, and although there have been several modifications, it still holds its charm. The loss of the property and its flora is beyond criminal if they take down a gum tree of that age. It saddens me when wildlife habitat is destroyed just to make more roads...there simply has to be a better way. Nice job in documenting a historical building before she is gone. That's liberalism for you. Socialism gets worse which only leads to communism where only the government thrives people actually have to share their homes with strangers as if it were an apartment, tearing down a lovely home and property is hardly that important because the Gov. gets what IT wants, all done for us ! HAH !

I really love the old bluestone homes. This one, though renovated over the years retained enough of the original build to let me imagine it's original condition. What a stunner it must have been. The garden with those big old trees is spectacular. I can imagine sitting out there with a glass of lemonade and enjoying the birds and other wildlife on the property. I'm glad to know that a lot of this home will be salvaged. I could see where the floorboards were being pulled up to save. Thank you so much for showing this one before it is torn down.

I hope they salvage everything they can and at this home and I saw the most beautiful door handle it had flowers on it that was absolutely gorgeous I have never seen one like that one original or not.. and as far as the outhouse when I was young we had a out house so I know how it is you use one of them old things but it was better than nothing.. It is a shame that the houses cannot be moved somewhere. We are all to blame as we drive so much. If the roads are not improved or redesigned then we gripe about the traffic. So thank you for filming these places so we can always remember our past.

A beautiful home. I wonder why they abandoned it. Do you think they were paid to leave so the demolition crew could put a road through it. I wonder if the house could of been moved or the road rerouted, just a thought! Thank you for showing this place!

Another old gem gone to so called progress. I've seen here in my town take away all the history to build big ugly high rise junk that remain mostly empty anyway because the rents are to high for many to pay. Just breaks ones heart. Thanks for for saving this beauty on video Paul.

Hi Urbex Indigo. Thanks for yet another wonderful--though as you say, bittersweet--video for us to enjoy. I sure hope they at least save the 220-year old tree, but I am not at all confident that they will. Hell must be full up with real estate deveopers. As an American, sometimes the birds that are heard and seen in your vids seem quite exotic to me! I love birds. :-)

If only that property could talk, I'm sure it would have some very interesting stories to tell ! A beautiful house in structurally surprisingly good condition on a great sized block of land. I wonder if it originally had a horse stable and coach house ? Thank you for walking thru this property, sharing the video and relaying its history.

They did a lovely job on rehabbing. They left the original beauty of this home intact. I think I would have liked to see the fireplaces even if they were non working. They do look good with pillar candles displayed in them. The addition was great and the cabana bath. What a nice kitchen for gathering with friends and access to pool area. I like how your loo's are separated from the bath. Here in the States they started building a room in the bath area for your toilet which they call water closets. It's nice you have historical pictures of these places. One day a generation will ask why would they tear down our history. Do y'all have a historic district in your towns? Here in the States these neiborhoods are being vitalized and special tax breaks are given if you rehab to save the originality of the home. Your photos and video's may be in demand one day by your historical society or organization. Oh and hate when they tear down the trees. Something that stood for over 200 years should have been saved. Mother Earth is not happy. 🌏 Thanks for your passion to getting these gems on film.

Hi Debra, yes it was smart to not totally destroy the original walls and just create the thin new walls although I would have kept it original :-) Yes we have heritage listings but they have to be assessed and meet criteria that is deemed to be improtant enough to keep. Yes unfortunately the trees are going too now ive learned. Thanks for watching :-)
