I enjoy your videos. It's wonderful that a random number of sailors will show up on any given weekend for a group sail. I believe I heard you mention that this is also popular in the British Isles. I live in the Northeast of the US and I have found nothing like it over here. Keep up the great videos.

Just discovered the channel. What do you band of pirates call yourselves? I would like to get back on the water, but my mobility is not as good as I would like it to be, however I'm re-conditioning my 7ft "Dink" so at least I can sit off the bank, and row about. I've thought about putting some kind half cabin on the back for shelter. and some kind of Lantine Sail. "Molly" (short for mollytroquet) is in a poor state cosmetically. but being glass " she'll tart up orright". Would you like some pic's of the work in progress. Perhaps it would make a good you tube project as well. In the mean time; fair breeze, tight sails. and low swells.AND keep up the squeezebox.

Thanks George for watching. Our group is called Raid Sydney (raid being a viking thing, big in the states 'and Europe). But there are similar groups in other states in Australia. Hence we have adopted the code 'R' flag . You can follow on facebook over 2000 members but sadly only about 20 sail. Yes please send me a photo to sailingkatelouise@gmail.com and thanks again for watching, new video out tomorrow, cheers Paul

Not too bad on the Anglo. You're lucky you got a Wren that works, they can be very hit and miss in quality. If you want a squeezebox that gives the same note on push and pull you want an English or a Duet (mine) concertina. I've been looking at building or buying a dinghy for cruising And maybe a RAID or 2 on Lake Mac and MLNP and your videos have been quite helpful, inspiring and frustrating (IE. I don't have a boat yet). I'd been looking at CLC Jimmy Skiff 2 till I saw your video on the Shimmy 12 which seems about perfect for my needs. Thanks for that. The Welsford boats look great for what I want too - the wee version of a Navigator, the Houdini looks pretty good. BTW I saw a 20 yr old Stornaway 18 with cuddy and yawl layout this week on FB market for sale in Qld at a good price too. I don't have a car with tow bar at present otherwise I may have gone on a 1000km road trip. Cheers D

Thanks mate for watching. Yes I spent a few hours fixing a stuck valve on my Wren the other day and it's working now. I find the screws they use to hold it together aren't the best and the heads sheer very easily. Get a boat and come and join us. I also saw that add for a Stornaway, good price but needs some work. I Had to buy a cheap Subaru forester and also drive to Queensland to get Kate Louise, but sh'e's glad I did, cheers Paul

This video is perfect, absolutely what I have needed for months. The description of boats, their price, and how they were found…just perfect. Thank you so much….from east Tennessee.

I was looking at doing the rip-stop nylon sun shade with the fiberglass tent poles like you have for my B-26. Seems like an inexpensive solution to the blazing sun issue.
@SailingKateLouise
@SailingKateLouise 7 месяцев назад
Yep it works well. But I have to shorten the shade cloth as it's a bit long. I use the same lugs on the coaming for the boom tent and the same fibre glass tent poles. But the full boom tent gets too hot when fully enclosed, so the sun shade allows some air flow. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul

I've got to say, I'm surprised at the pace you had to windward. It looked like you were pointing pretty high, too.
@SailingKateLouise
@SailingKateLouise 7 месяцев назад
Yes I was using a garmin watch and it said 6 knots to windward, which I think is wrong. I can do 7knots on a broad reach...flat out. The Stornaway 18 with a skeg keel and a lugsail yawl rig doesn't point as high as a Marconi rig...so it must have been the camera angles, cheers Paul

@@SailingKateLouise Garmins don't tend to lie, but they do measure speed over ground. Perhaps you had a bit of current behind You? Perhaps camera angles came into play, but the telltale (flag) on the port stay gave the appearance that the breeze was all but on the nose. Anyway, thanks for the content. I'm a long way from the sea in Central Victoria, these days and haven't sailed for years. I'm am living vicariously through your content.
