My father in law passed last year. I spent a whole year clearing the same stuff in your video. Cars, car parts. I had to lift 10 mowers, 4 rotivators in to a skip. The reason he kept everything was because he saw a use for it all and was a war baby so was frugal as well. It was hard to see it go. Great video and BTW that writing on the van was BROLAC PAINTS. All the best
Thanks for sharing your story MrAsBBB I have noticed how more wasteful were becoming, but hey I haven't got the space for that lol. Cheers for watching 👍
That place was like being in a museum ! Some of those mugs are almost priceless , one of a kind . I could spend a week in there and never pick up the same article twice . The old cars and vans were good if your into that sort of thing , me being almost eighty am very sentimental especially the Diana mug. Thank you both for a interesting poke about , I'll nod off now and dream about exploring. Till next time God Bless , take care , Stuart in Canada ..
Lots of gems, however a good example of living simply is best. I am now decluttering my home as what I consider cool stuff my kids would see it as junk. Such a shame that photos etc are left may have got too much for the family to clear out. Your right about urbex people who dont have good intentions or respect. Eddie is a real detective explorer really getting into the places you go. I think these investigations give a clue about the people who lived there :)
Thanks for watching Wendy. Yeah I do try to preserve these places best I can. I wouldn't want this place becoming common knowledge as there's a lot of valuables
Known of this for years near my old workshop the old boy worked on Comercial stuff especially Bedford tk’s and as far as I know he passed away around covid but he never got rid of any thing was a loverly old boy
2:53 "Commer", part of the Rootes Group. They had an incredible two-stroke , opposed piston diesel which used to sound awesome, especially when working hard. Twin crankshafts, three horizontal cylinders and six pistons. That was back in the days when Britain used to build some serious commecial vehicles. Had to chuckle a bit at Ed's adventures. Chased out of a shed by a fox in the Earnley Concourse video, and "attacked" by mice in this one. Gripping stuff..... 😳
This place is up the road from me driven past so many times but never been in to look so thanks for the video, this property is now being cleared sadly looks like most of the vehicles have been scrapped now
*..HOW ... !!! IS SIMPLE .. WHEN YOU GET **#OLD** .. AND YOUR .. "BRAIN RUNS DRY"..* *YOU GET "STUPID" ... REAL "STUPID" .. AND START DOING "THIS" CRAP WE SEE* *AND THE THING IS "YOU ARE OLD" .. SO ALL PEOPLE .. **#DONT** TELL YOU* *(LISTEN YOU ARE TURNED INTO A ..."STUPID CLOWN" .. **#CLEAN** **#UP** YOUR SHIT)* *OOOHHH NOOO .. "HE IS OLD .. LET HIM SLEEP WITH RATS .. AND DIE LONELY" ..* *SO IT IS .. MANY OF THE .."OLD IDIOTS".. DESTROYING TON OF GOOD "STUFF"* *SO A LOT OF "YOUNG" PEOPLE EVEN NOT CAN SEE THE "THINGS" ANYMORE* *(AND LIKE HERE A **#DOZER** COMES AND "EVERYTHING" REMOVED)* *NOTHING LEFT* NNNN
Great explore but so sad there's a story behind every abandoned property.so much to investigate so little time to do it all.i know a property that's just been abandoned recently with old cars and junk they have piled stuff so high to stop urbex and people getting in there is so much stuff you can't see the rear space but is huge many thanks for the vids Alex.
Thanks srad! Sounds like you've stumbled across a gem of an abandoned building there. You can always email me alexio21@hotmail.co.uk if you want me to check it out 😉👍
First wagon I drove was a Bedford TK like that, I had to drive it round the town centre while my brother who owned it went shopping. Fantastic but scary, driven tippers and hiab wagons for over 35 years. Interesting explore as usual always find garage and workshops good 👍. Old machinery is good too. I think K reg was 72 but not positive. Thanks for the trip back in motoring time.
😢from a woman's point of view..I spotted the gorgeous wallpaper pattern, a couple of beautiful lampshades and that very old fabulous singer which looked like its paint was in excellent condition 😢😢😢and that table 😮❤the sheepskin coat was stunning. So sad that friends or family couldn't get together to pass out the beautiful items and usable items such as good clothing for people in need or to auction for charity or something. I'm assuming the elderly man was indeed a handy mechanic who never wasted parts and worked until he slept. Bless him. Sadly he probably never asked for help and none was taken either. Wouldn't it be nice if unemployed or active retirees got together to help such people clear the property before vandalism occurs if there's no family nearby. Understanding that sometimes adult kids could be stuck overseas and simply can't take months off work for such tasks 😢. Some very beautiful items in there. I think you guys have a genuine love for old lovely things, homes, architecture and history .its a pity you don't have the means to clear out the homes before they're demolished or vandalized beyond retrieval 😢 Alex is like Spiderman 😂❤. Ed is like a bloodhound😂😂.
Hi Alex & Ed, that badge with the letter B, could it be for Bentley the car make ??? or for RAF Bomber Squadron perhaps ????. That hub cap logo is really bugging me now lmao. A nice explore, so much stuff though, how did the guy even live there as the kitchen was just overflowing with stuff, no way he could have cooked in there, absolutely crazy. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx
What a shame that all this has just been left behind. The old lorries were interesting. I can remember when the Bedford TK and the Ford D Series were a common sight on our roads.
the cupboard with the keys hanging inside definately had a Ford ignition key in there on the left it would have been for either the Ford escort or the Cortina as both cars are just a few years apart in age, they are both from the 1980s the MK3 escort was a B reg which plants it firmly in 1984/85 the cortina Mk5 would have been 1980 to 1983 both cars used the same barrel types for ignition and door locks,
What another great find so sad that they have left allthis behind .even doors unlocked so sad .this is a proper man's work shop some of the detail and belongi gs are unreal just to be left .you guys are so thorough no tables left unturned love it
162nd! A lot older people keep things “just in case I can use it later”. Especially older people who lived in the times that a lot if things were hard to come by. WW11, for instance. Love your videos and channel! And Ed runs around like ENERGIZER BUNNY! And he is funny as well! Roger in Pierre South Dakota USA
What an amazing explore!! Wow all those vehicles - such a fantastic find 🚙 Great climbing - just chilling up a crane - as you do ....🤪 I'm hoping the owner's relatives may come back and sort all those possessions out before it's too late! Thanks for a great video and to Pompeye too 👍👍
Cheers Trish! Yeah was an awesome little find this. And I hope the same, these things should be saved before the place gets the wrong type of person in there! Thanks for watching 😁👍
That plastic grille you picked up is from a Mk5 Ford cortina that was next to that lorry also in the shed was a blue mk3 Ford escort you said you did not know what it was. both long past saving.
The Merc in this is a stroke 8. It had a six-cylinder engine, making it a W114. This one was last used up to end of summer 1989. Once had a stroke 8, though was a four cylinder W115.
Car at 12:40 is a Ford Cortina MkV foreign van beforehand was a Volkswagen , Ford grill looked to be off a Granada. House bit you said was gutted looked to be an unfinished extension.
Oh my god, I watched this last night and today I had to go over to my friends house for lunch, and what did I see !!!!! A crane 🤣🤣🤣 this is just down the road from her, we stopped and looked but too scared to go in lol x
Great video Alex wow that place had some stuff in, I'm sure I've seen someone do an explorer of this place it's just as full end untouched anyway keep up the good work 👍🖤 brilliant viewing xx TX x
That house looked similar to photos of my grandfather's house he passed away before I was born. He could never throw anything away. He died in the war holding on to a hand grenade.
@VacantHaven last part isn't true. But he did collect allsorts ( not the sweets ) it was said by my uncle that he had at least 20 old cars round, similar amount of tractors over 30 motor bikes, and a house full of treasures. They were all in similar condition. As my mother said, after 27 years of living with my my grandmother, he needed something to keep him sane. I met her as a kid, a real evil woman. She scraped and threw away everything, even with people offering good money for restoration or parts. The last part comes from what he used to joke about to his friends as my grandmother went through her moods. " I should have jumped on a granade when I was in the army, than come back to this woman."
I don't see many abandoned homes here in British Columbia, Canada. Why are so many places abandoned in England? Is it because of the inheritance tax? Here, people inherit homes if it's in the will, or other circumstances. It's a shame though, I've seen so many beautiful places abandoned, from these videos.
Places like this do leave you scratching your head. Whatever the circumstances of the death of the last resident, im surprised the local authority hasn't taken an interest regarding all the potential contaminants in that vehicle graveyard. Drums and containers everywhere, god knows what they contain. The jugs with teachers whiskey advertising, that was promotional ware that was on the bars in pubs back in the day, containing water for your scotch, very collectable stuff.
So when I done my explore here we heard that back door and kitchen door slam. Sneaked back out and there was an old lady filling up the bird feeders lol. I think they own it but have abandoned it as can't get inside
That was totally unreal. God to think that people collect so very much stuff over the years. I just couldn't believe it. Thanks for yet another great video. Thanks for the adventure.Stay safe guy's and looking for more adventures with you both.
So how do you find these places? And then once you are aware of them, you just travel to them and help yourself to looking around? Have you ever encountered anyone while walking a property?
We do a lot of research and exploring, we film the interesting bits and never look back. A few times we've come across live in security, dodgy squatters etc.. but never had any trouble really.
the cars look like they've been vandalised relatively recently. This is one of the downsides of exploring, criminals watch all of the car explores and then go and rob the place
