Enjoy all your podcasts Billy but especially the ones when you're out and about. The balance you achieve between filming and talking is spot on and you are a natural talker who never repeats himself, talks shit or waffles which makes you highly watchable in my book. Cheers.
I remember going to the market that was there on Sundays driving with my nan grandad in the 80s to Wales, youve just took me back to lovely memories nice 1 billy , beautiful day out fresh sea air
She's not been abandoned Bill , the Rowley family (Liverpool) still own her along with the Solitaire market on the front 👍👍 P.S. The guy that done all the original art work inside her back in the early 1980,s was a good friend of my Dad called John Fellows 🤔🤔
I worked on this ship back in the day at weekends. It was actually supposed to end up facing the other way but they misjudged the tide when it was getting towed in and had to settle for it facing the wrong way. Also stayed over on a few Saturday nights in what used to be guest cabins, damp and miserable but it saved driving back to Liverpool after a few drinks 😊. Brings back a lot of memories, thanks for sharing.
Alright mate, the ship was used to beat the system when we were kids all shops were not allowed to open on a Sunday but you could sell from a ship , so it was used a market, and still is , it has also just been used to make a TV series Windrush, my mate owns it ,
I illegally got onto this one night after it was beached with a bunch of mates. The empty bar/restaurant area was eerie, the empty accommodation cabins were wrecked, the wind whistled from nowhere and the creaking steel beams seemed to be singing. That's one bad place.
Nice of you to give Heysham a shout Bill, and I didn't even know anything about the duke of Lancaster, my home town, but she could be an absolute beauty, enjoyed that Billy, learn something new everyday, thanks for posting this mate, hope Joe and Terry are well, and you're ma 💙, honest she got a look of my mum, who's just turned 75,
Top man Bill, just down the road from me this. Passed it many times over the years but never been inside or got close to it. Shame to see it go to ruins. Enjoying the vids 💪🏼
I watched these videos about the last year and little did I no I only just watched the movie a prayer before dawn wow some film much respect to this man just wow no wonder they made a film out this and can't beat a true story epic story
sad to see those great old ships lying abandoned bill, the saddest one is the royal iris rotting away in some docks in london, brought back some great memories that ferry, even the beatles played on there
My great Auntie lived near Rhyl, we visited the ship most visits, either for the huge outdoor markets, or latterly, a giant fabric warehouse, I think when the Fabric place opened, the markets had stopped, and the ship boarded up......... I think the textile site was called Abercan' 6 year old me had many fantasy moments, dreaming of stealing that ship, and being a pirate somewhere around the Isle of White 😅
I explored that ship VERY throughly in the early 90's............ No fun stuff we could find, I never even saw the arcade open or in use, and I was born 1980.....
Cool isn’t it bill would love to go inside and have a look .. I seen somewhere Someone took all the arcade machines out of it and sold them for thousands ..
Type in duke of lancaster mission aboard it shows you 3 months ago what it's like inside the ship now , A group of lads called urbandoned got to sneak inside
Yes, one of the ferries across the Mersey, which I not only travelled on, but when it was taken out of service was amongst a team that did a thorough clean of the ferry. I lost track of where she went, and still have no idea
@@Imfat8888 She was Berthed @ Princess Dock budd sadly the floating club did not last long due to a few issues like punters getting drunk and falling into the Mersey lol 🤭🤭🤭
@@Imfat8888 I noticed it went out of service, and then ended up at a dock. I was employed, with others, to clean her, every nut and bolt, but did not know why. This would be around 2012
