I imagine since he was no longer in use, they may have needed some of his components to repair a Haunted Mansion animatronic. After the repair, they probably just left the head (in case other parts were needed?).

If you want to see someone who cares about the animatronics they created, Aaron Fechter, inventor of Whack-A-Mole and creator of The Rock Afire Explosion still has a working show that he still occasionally writes and programs new songs and shows for. His official youtube channel is called Therockafire, and it's full of cool videos, but I personally would recommend starting with the video tours, because he goes into some of the history of each of his creations. Unfortunately, he does lack the budget to keep all of his shows well maintained, and one could argue that keeping his creations stored in the same building that he stores his experimental Hydrilium fuel is a bit risky considering how much damage one canister of it exploding did some years back, but he's kind of an eccentric man to say the least. I'm sure I wouldn't be playing with a full deck either if I spent years of my life surrounded by inventions that for one reason or another, mostly failed to get very far off the ground. (For example, he invented what is essentially an email machine, only for the home computer to be released, making his invention pointless.)

rottendollface 20k is such a sad story. They purposely sabotage the submarine that Michael Eisner was on so that he would close the ride. Then it was left it to rot. It was one of WDW’s best rides. Shame it’s gone 😞

@@BenLaurence At least the serpents in Disneyland's Submarine Voyage both have safe homes now. I wish the same could be said for WDW's serpents and squids. :(
