Shame isn't it. We found these houses about 6 years ago when we were looking for a new house and I emailed the builder to ask if he intended to sell as they looked brand new then but he didn't reply. Lovely big balconies and don't know if you all noticed but those ones on the right look directly on to a lovely wee river in a nice wee village, the location is so nice. Such a waste isn't it !
In my city there is an area similar to this the problem was itHad been built on a landfillsite and once the people had moved in the levels of methane were toxic since then the levels have naturally reduced and the homes are now resold and occupied
The 1st builder went bust It was then bought by another builder Who promised the people who had bought houses in the development to finish the rest of the development But they didnt not sure why
@@lindatimmons3675 The second builder hasn’t went broke buddy They are well known company in Ayrshire called mclaughlin construction When they bought the site they promised the owners they would complete the other houses they did some work but couldn’t sell the remaining house So they left I believe there is more to the story
Shocking waist off money , should have never happened, local council could have snapped them up for families, or is there a sinister reason they were never complete. 🤔🏴
Looks like some developments in the US that were abandoned in 2008-2009. Big housing bust and recession. Had it there, too? Shame. Such a waste of materials. See that black mold starting already in the ceilings in spots. Bummer. Be careful, that stuff is toxic. That area looks pretty wild and rural. Great explore folks! Thanks!
Whole Abandoned streets like this are always creepy and sad looking. Braw looking houses but building company went bust 😥 It’s a wonder folk haven’t nabbed all the building stuff left inside They should let them to homeless families rather than stick them in hostels or bed n breakfasts.
So many people homeless? 😡 update about these... Only 3 out of 16 houses in the estate were finished in 2007 as the initial builder went bankrupt and the subsequent builder has done little.
Down in the US they had a whole little town that was condemned because it used to be where they used to just bury the nuclear waste and then the town folk started getting cancer children were dying of cancer and you could go back there now and everything is just as it was because the people literally had to grab their clothes and get out of there. I know the government put a tall fence around the town town and locked it up. I haven’t seen anything in the news about it for a few years. I bet they ran out of money or there’s a lien on each house. 🤷♀️
Why are there so few windows on the second floor, and on the sides of many of these houses? Do people not want to see their neighbors in front of, or next to, the house? Is it some kind of illusion of privacy to mostly have the windows in the back? Or is it to prevent heat loss in a cold and windy climate? I don't understand the design, but I'm American and frankly clueless about contemporary trends in houses in Scotland, so please forgive my ignorance. The window placement does seem rather visually unbalanced and unattractive, and those tacked-on front hallway entrances are not that upscale-looking to me... yet the internal layouts and bathrooms look fairly classy. How odd to see all that unused building material just sitting around... in the USA it would have been stolen ages ago, and all the wiring and bathroom fixtures stripped out. Here people steal like mad from sites while you're still building the houses... you have to have security people laid on if you want to keep your materials. Sad to say.
With all the building supplies in each of the houses, it looks like money ran out or something was not up to code and they just abandoned the project. They look like really nice homes.
Hmm...perhaps old military PMQ's? Here in Nova Scotia, we have a few areas such as this just sitting abandoned. They always have a type of eeriness all their own.
Oh what a shame, these would of been gorgeous houses if they all had been finished. The views would of been lovely aswell.Wonder why they never got to be finished, such a shame especially with all the homeless people.
They do not give out the location because if they did they would be trashed and vandalised. That is the number one rule of people doing these videos.......no locations mentioned
Just asking does your videos monetized by youtube? I wish they would monetized this. Your videos are great and nice places you explored? Im from Philippines. I love watching explorations like this. This made us aware whats happening around the country.
To be honest no, i haven't got round to doing it yet lol, i know i should turn it on i might do it tomorrow after work thanks for reminding me and thanks for watching
@@grahamwishart4832 Just a few harmless capital letters pal, no shouting involved lol. Interesting video anyway & I'm still watching other ones & reading the whole story online. I remember seeing stuff about it before but couldn't remember where it was. Thanks for the clue! Ha ha ha!
The MGM towers or Al Khobar in is like mansion apartments. Beautiful marble stairways and floors all of the way through. All abandoned, the Bedouins did not want to live in them.
What a shame. Could have been nice homes. Liked thebathrooms. Looks like a pyramid builder scam here in the U.S. I guess waste and greed are everywhere. Thanks for sharing.
Susan Miller.... I'm in US also and I had thought the same thing....waste. or more like " take the money and run", seems to be way too much of that going around...everyhere.
Looks like a renovation project is underway. They look like very strong housing, why not keep the style that is the UK. When I think of the UK, I think of the cute little town with bungalows very much like the houses in this video. Somebody had some foresight to keep the great, cozy, style that is the UK.
Somebody with big bucks could have a great little subsidized housing location with durable living quarters. The fixture choice looked really good. Americans are interested in these things, on a long term lease agreement. As long as it makes money, it's a good idea.
I found out about these on the internet a long time ago. The views on Google maps aren't great, so I've been hoping that someone would put a video of them up on RU-vid.
I am a person of Scottish descent, and grew up around the dialect being spoken. I found the audio really fascinating because I had the volume too low, and at first I could’ve sworn it was a Nordic language! I’ve only learned in recent years that there’s a strong Scandinavian influence in the language and place names.
Alec has a corse Glaswegian sound, the rouge sound you would hear in a council estate of impoverished broken homes of alcohol and drug abuse families. Everyone else sounds Nearer Stirling area. Great clips btw.
Those houses were a really weird design with no upstairs windows at the front but on the side facing the next house when they could have been there on the front
Looks like they were going 2 V fairly high end houses, bathrms w/ sep showers + bth tub & looked like I saw sprinkler system in ceilings , bth rms nicely tiled. Some w/ balconies. They should sell em cheap 2 people who can do their own reno, like construction workers, electricians, those that flip houses, etc,
initial builders went bankrupt, There were investors from Australia looking to buy but none of these were answered, no one wants to sell up so they can rebuild as far as i know
I appreciate that, but there is info you could give that is not about the location, like what were the big plastic covered stacks in front and it looks like someone was beginning a restoration, then stopped. Is that what you think, too?
Do you think they have fixed it up by now? Nice find man. I explored with Dan from exploring with fighters in Japan and would like to explore in your neck of the woods sometime
what happened to this place? i love your accent..I live in the state of Florida USA.. I would live there. I see now there not finished. My guess would be they ran out of money to finish them. Also the mold isn't a good thing either...dangerous.
