Abandoned Gold Mines in the Coffs Harbour Hinterland 

This video comes from an awesome day spent exploring in the bush out the back of Nana Glen where a trove of pioneering history lays in ruins. I went out with my brother Luke, Kev Smith from Woolgoolga Offroad and Luke Floyd from Hitch Up Adventures.
Kev has been exploring the area for about 30 years and has a wealth of knowledge to share on the gold mining history from the late 19th century. Mining began in the area after gold was found by the Sharpe family in 1881. There followed a few years of intense mining activity but the going was difficult.
