Come ride along with me and check out this abandoned motel built in the lates 50's early 60's. This motel use to house celebrities like The Rolling Stones, Fats Domino, Ann Sothern, and the Sammy Spear Orchestra of The Jackie Gleason Show. This motel had over 300 Luxurious rooms, Gourmet Dining Room, 2 Lounges with Live Entertainment, Complete Convention Facilities, Only minutes from Downtown and the Gator Bowl.
I have a passion for documenting abandoned locations and the intention of these videos is to preserve their history and memory for time to come.

The thunderbird motel ! Great video dude ! This actually became abandoned I believe in the early 80’s. It had a bunch of owners from that point on and I think a church currently owns it . That’s a very rough area .

I remember the Thunderbird Motel in the early 70s,it was a hopping,kind of upscale place that had a popular nightclub,when my family first moved to Jacksonville 1970,we stayed at the Jamaican motel just down the road on Arlington Expressway,I think it's a storage place now.

I've lived in Jax since 78 and watched that whole area decline. Had a kick ass bar in the day. I must say your a brave man wandering in Arlington in abounded hotels 😂.. Nice video

@@TaylorVanBeek Arlington was the place to be in the 80's the mall, record shops CJ's it was a happening area. I'd drive all the way from the beach for that. It's to dilapidated to save unfortunately. Would love to get into that Ford plant before that's gone one day. I hear it's well guarded though.

I have lived in Jacksonville my whole life I have been to this hotel. It was like a conference hotel it is definitely haunted It was about 10 years ago and it was still run down. They are in the process of tearing it down. This place is definitely scary between the hours of twelve to 3am

I think the last thing it was, was the old Ramada Inn off Alrington, before that it was the Thunderbird. I attended a conference there in 1997, it was kind of a crap hole then too.

Yeah I know it is exchanged hands several times! Supposedly another hotel chain is purchasing it. Kind of a crappy place to have a hotel anyways. In a declining area

Also it was nowhere near this tour up it looked like it was. High dollar hotel ahead nice beds telephone coffee makers hair dryers all kinds of stuff left behind. Over the years people have been taking and destroying this place. It was sad to see it in this condition compared to when I seen it 10 to 15 years ago in person.
