#Abandonedhouse #Abandonedplaces
We explore an abandoned house that sits beside the sea, behind years of overgrowth it hides, a decaying home with strange contents.
Upon entry we are greeted by police tape across the front porch, as we enter we find a creepy doll sitting on the chaise lounge.
A voodoo doll lies on the dining table, a mummified cat on the kitchen floor.
The rotting bedroom has a witches dress hung on the wardrobe door.
The previous inhabitants remain a mystery that left us feeling intrigued.

hate to dampen the vibe but its not a witches house its a doctors house. The winder beside the fireplace would be to open and close the vent for he fire. Mahjong is a game using small tiles, a bit like dominoes. This is a great find .. beautiful furniture

Absolutely cool place ❣️ I would imagine the handle by fireplace would be used to open the flue. In the dining room, the item in the buffet drawer is a nutcracker. The ends are used to pick tiny particles of the nutshell off of the "meat". I noticed the pump organ. The white knobs are used to pressurize wind in or out for sound effects. ☺️

The dwellers were academic. They would have been very interesting to meet. Shame about the cat, it must have died after the property was abandoned? I often wonder what you sense, deep inside, as if the property speaks to you? The winder handle might have been a bell-pull? I really am just guessing. Sometimes curtains were opened and closed in this way. Good to see you two beautiful souls.

Handle on the wall was actually used to lower and raise an original chandelier. Pre electricity, a rig system was usually run through the ceiling and down next to fireplaces so that lighting candles was easier. I know most comments are that it was to ring servants, but due to the lack of additional rooms and low basement, this home more than likely didn't have a staff of more than a housekeeper at most.

Hi you two! Another great find. The tiny cups in the beginning are for demitasse, a really strong, very sweet coffee. Usually drunk in the Middle East. Mah Jongh is a game played with stones or glass pebbles on a board with dips in it. Very strategic. Big in the Orient. Gorgeous Singer. I love how you find them in so many of these old places. I had an old foot pedal one with all attachments and loved it. Great exercise for the legs! Doctor of Divinity is the study of theology with advanced knowledge of the Bible. He was a very learned man according to the multiple doctorates he achieved. The dental looking thing in the drawer is a nutcracker, the pick part is to get the walnuts out easier after cracking open. So sad about the cat. I can imagine it never left, always waiting for it's owner to return. Though there are creepy looking things, there are simple explanations for them that don't include witchcraft. The "black witch's dress" is a mourning over cloak worn for presiding over funerals, like a priest's over gown. The Schoolgirls' Own mags were a pleasure to see again. So sad to see all the decay, but I can just imagine what a wonderful place this used to be! Sorry for going on so long, but hope I helped answer some of your questions and misconceptions. Great find! Thank you so much for sharing this!

The tool in the drawer is a nutcracker, probably around 100 years old, I have the exact same one that belonged to my grandparents. The name at the top of the magazines found in the bedroom would’ve been written on by the newsagent so they would know who had ordered it. In the past you would have magazines & newspapers put by for you to collect & the shop owner wrote your name on your copy. I would imagine the house was built in the 1800’s.

The winding handle next to the fire place may well have been for a damper in a chimney.. essentially a cast iron valve to open and close the chimney to alter the draw I guess and you can close off completely when not in use so you don't draw cold air in through the pot's into the house.. quite an unusual but clever piece of engineering for the time..

I realise you were probably just joking but I am not sure you should have used the term 'witch'. It might actually have been very offensive to the person who lived in this house. Unfortunately it has come to have negative connotations. Though it refers in fact to widely differing people. There are some people who use the term who would seek to have power other others & not always in the best way. There are others who are very humble & respectful people who lead lives as strict as any monk or nun, for they beleive that any type of energy they give out towards others come back to them tenfold, so they cannot afford to have angry, resentful, or violent thoughts towards others but must conciously mind their thoughts in every moment. Such are often very good people who are possessed of great creative & healing abilities. The awareness they must foster leads to much self development. This was an interesting explore & has lead to me wondering where I am in my own development.

This is definitely not a witches house. The doll on the lounge is a very old doll. When you laid the doll flat the eyes would close and the lids would become stuck, break off inside the head so the doll had no eyelids when sitting upright. The handle next to the fireplace would have been to open or close the chimney vent. The black dress hanging on the wardrobe door would be a thick heavy funeral dress the lady would have changed clothes after the service judging by the Christmas decorations it would have been winter and bitterly cold there. The doll in the plate has been set up by someone and is an old fashioned wooden doll with no clothes on. The bundle of what looked Like twigs bound together are dried or either fresh herbs and burned to purify the air after a death, Witches and Wise Women or even just us older women use them to burn and cleanse. The dead animal corpse tells me the story looks like the husband died the kids grew up and moved away, the Lady of the house maybe died but being on her own maybe was not found for days or weeks the family pet would never leave her so just laid down to die with her. Hence the police tape as this would have had to be investigated (even years back) by a Coroner. Just a beautiful old house left to decay.

The rusty utensil in the drawer with the pointed end on one handle looks like an old-fashioned nutcracker. You put the nut between the two handles to break the shell, then use the curved, pointed end to pick out the nutmeat. Other explorers set up the table, the white rose in the vase, the whatever it was on the plate, the thing hanging from the lamp, and such. I wish they would just leave things as they find them instead of trying to create a scene as if it was something the people who lived there had left. Seems like that happens a lot.

The ghosts that wander these places see it as it was not as it is. Like that you all show respect for these once probably happy homes. Kia Ora from NZ.

Oh you're right by the water...I would love to go mudlarking in Scotland. You guys should find yourselves some sort of "treasure" from each of your explorations so you have a reminder of them. Whether it be beach glass or the bowl of a clay pipe...oh how much fun that would be! I'm so envious! LOL And Jess I think the movie you were referring to was called "the Visit"...GOOD FLICK! And Sam, Mah-Jong is actually a game so that was probably the lid from the game box! Also the thing you pulled out of the drawer in the dining room, I THINK is an old nut cracker as it has a pick on one of the handles to pick the nut from the shell once you have cracked it.

@11:46 the doll on the lounge had some blue in the eyes as they looked down. Then when Jesse got down on the floor next to the lounge to get a better look at the doll I noticed the blue part of the eyes were gone, just like that @11:52. Then at 13:15 the eyes had the blue back in them again. Was this the way of the camera or a real happening. The showing of this home makes one think in depth about much in life. It was certainly a beautiful home at one time.

The organ is called a "pump" organ. My grandma had one similar to that. You had to constantly pump the two pedals, thereby introducing air into the pipes inside the organ to produce sound. The round knobs are called "stops" and by pulling out and pushing in various ones you could change the sound being produced. Interesting explore. . . not nearly as spooky as people try to convince us. Thank you for sharing.

What a beautiful old place. So sad to see so much decay in these places you visit. The furniture, can only imagine when first made. Thanks for sharing. And was creepy in places and at moments.

Wow, another hit. What a fascinating house and all the leanings towards the paranormal so intriguing, just loved it, except for the poor cat!

The thing you thought may be a garlic crusher is indeed a nut cracker I have 2 from my grandparents. Those bone handled knives are gorgeous, I also have a couple of those. Poor kitty.
