House X. There were so many uncertain things about this house and it`s location and why it is abandoned......There was something sad about this house. After leaving this house I could not stop thinking about it and I do not know why.

I think a prominent family lived there at one time. Would love to know the reason why it is left abandoned. Makes me sad to see this.

It look like it wasn’t a single family home. It looks like it was a group home or a home for older adults. There are so many rooms and handle bars in the bathroom. Great explore.

Handlebars in the bathroom? I don't think so, what you saw was a heated towel rail at one end of the bath and a normal one at the other end.

Cool huge home, a shame doors were not at least shut to keep animals & bugs out. The intermittent music & still shots are nice. One bathroom had handicapped bars for the tub/shower, made me think the owner may have been elderly & deceased. Maybe no family wanted to keep it up or sell it. The yard looked large & would have seen a lot of life there w/family & friends over the years. Thanks & keep on keepin' on! 👍

Where is this home located? I mean, what country? I'm in the USA. This house was designed differently wasn't it? I was expecting to see large rooms, but, there all small. Rather disappointing. Hey Kimmie I was able to find out that this place was an aged care facility. If you watch the intro there is the name "Newbrae" on the front of the home which is a chain of aged care facilities. I`m going to dig up some more on it but it would be fair to say some elderly people would have died in this facility over the years.

Thanks for looking it up. You're probably right about some people passing on there if it was an aged care facility. It just creeps me out because at each turn you took while recording I kept expecting to see something jump out in front of you or see shadows of someone who's "not there" if you know what I mean? Why are there two toilets in one of the bathroom right next to each other? Is it a multiple person bathroom or is it some kind of fancy toilet arrangement? What I mean is is one of them for number one and the other for number two or is one of those toilets the kind rich people have that wash off their bottoms and such?

A most unusual "House !......" And its layout and fixtures suggest something I have seen before-- quite a few times ! ..... I'll run the things I saw together, and let others form their own conclusions- or not- as to what I think this house might have been. First, the long corridor with bedrooms; each with lace curtains and full drapes- plus the multiple bathrooms with showers and bathtubs. Note the colours of the rooms- a lot of pink tones... all those mattresses .......... There's that end room with its lead'd glass window in the door, its heavy purplish drapes -- plus its has its own elaborate bathroom ---- with ( this is my best clue ) - a Bidet. The kitchen was very orderly, the house was clean and looked after-- it was definitely a woman-centre'd 'home'...... Thank you for posting this !.... A most excellent game of Clues !....... anyone think it might have been a .....................??

Hey ana ixtar! I thought this family would have to be huge because it felt like a hotel with that hall way haha. It was still in great shape and to drive past it without looking too closely it could possibly seem occupied. I got the sense of a bit of sadness in there for some reason. There was a huge back yard section with sheds but I did not go in them. Thanks for watching! :-)
@karilynjaquest8739
@karilynjaquest8739 6 лет назад
Hello ana ixtar. I really enjoy reading your comments. I have learned a lot from them. I thought with the hotel look to the place and the bathrooms that it may have been one of those discreet places where young women who found themselves "in the family way" back in the day would go to wait out their pregnancy before returning home "rejuvenated " after a stay in the country. Just a thought.
@anaixtar6793
@anaixtar6793 6 лет назад
That's a good theory Karilyn ..! I have to confess I never thought of it, but its as good a fit as my off-the-wall Brothel idea. :) . I can't number the times I have been invited to inspect various old houses and been suddenly aware that " ....This was once a Parlor House !"-- There are unmistakable signs that after years come out at me, and usually a check of the property's history (something like; it was listed as a 'boardinghouse" and the residence of a "Mrs." Sally Purple..) all but confirms it-- (Victorian/Edwardian proper ladies did not own property- at least outright and public.) Then there are subtle things like multiple enterances- customers do not want to pass thru waiting clients on their way out, -the large kitchen (these girls could eat after a 'full evening's work")--- but what really set off my Brothel radar was that Bidet-- in a bathroom a little too otherwise elegant for that setting. In Victorian London one house in Ten !! was some sort of 'working house'- in all manner of designs, functions and clientele. In the western US- mining and railroad towne's its fun to walk the old streets and see them, quite literally- pop out at you. You may find a Google of the Dumas Hotel in Butte Montana fun. It shows what a high and low class-both- "sporting establishment' was like- in this case, right up until quite recently. . But from now on I am going to also run a Home for Wayward Girls thru my mix .....:)

@anaixtar6793

Hi Happy.. :) . Ahhh!, never *Knowingly* been in one- but the odds are you might have - though the signs became blurr'd over the years. Many of these 'houses' were converted long ago into more respectable homes--- but look for the signs....:) Like- in the western US, that cute little Victorian duplex, with the two side-by-side front doors.... a high class upgrade over the common 'crib'-- both girls sharing a wall for economy, friendship and security. Or a plain, proper front door and porch to present a air of respectablity to the street- but an ornate fancy back enterance -- discrete for the customers entry. Then there are the give-aways- a sink in every bedroom (Parlor houses and up scale houses usually)- signs of, or the actual call buttons still on the walls-- windows that were never intended to be opened....and of course, my favorite- the fancy house on the outskirts of towne, or across the railroad tracks near an old station. . Its fun to look at these in a different light--if for no other reason than it fills the imagination- and you may be right.... :) . I

Ivy, if it was once what I think it *might* have been, and its only a conjecture, mind you-- these place had occupants that may have owned the property ---- when things changed, they just leave. I have seem any number of such 'establishments,' especially in Nevada-- Changing fortunes, clients etc. will cause them to be abandon'd in a heart beat... and finding a new owner there-after is all but impossible. They were business's, and the profits - or losses--were sufficient for the owners to simply walk away :)

Definitely an old peoples/assisted living home, it’s huge! Reminds me so much of big South African bungalows with the deep windows and lots of light. Would make a nice B&B actually. I didn’t get a creepy feel from this place to be honest, more a bit forlorn and needing life in it again! Great explore and thank you for letting the bird out!

Easy mystery to solve mate, just jot down the physical street address and visit the local tax office who will give you a lot and block number for the property, then you can find out if property taxes are current and if they are who the owner of record is, then simply contact them and ask details. If the owner of record is a lending institution or it is a tax seizure property get busy and put in an offer, because it looks like it would make a easy flip ;)

Hi Paul. I watched this six months ago and then had another look today. I agree with the sadness you felt. I think it’s because people get old and death is near and one just doesn’t want to leave this earth. One is leaving the familiar for parts unknown or just a Black Death. There were so many hopes and prayers here. Oh and yes the spiderweb stick could only be utilized from someone like you raised in the country. 😻Hi to Nicolai! 😻

Hi Nancy, funny you watched this again as I was passed this home a month ago and noticed someone has started cleaning and maintaining it and a car was in the drive so maybe it has a new owner :-) I also found out it was last used as an aged care facility back in 2010. Maybe there were some deaths associated with it......thus the sad feelings. Thanks for re watching, and Nicolai says meow! haha :-)

Definitely could be restored. Loved all the french doors and bet the whole house had hardwood floors underneath the carpet (am a huge fan of wood floors and the "timbered" ceilings I see in your videos of older abandoned homes there). Group home for the aged, eh? Pretty nice compared to what I've seen here and big need for that in the US, is there too? Am I to assume too isolated for services such as medical, etc? Curious why abandoned. Thank you for the lovely tour. Very nice video!

Where was it located? I don't need GPS but you don't even say state or country making it seem less "abandoned" and more vacated and foreclosed or for sale. Not every person wants to come loot a place.
@urbexindigo5164
@urbexindigo5164 6 лет назад
Hey Melanie your are right, not everyone wants to loot or Vandalize but it only takes one to do the damage. This place was used as an aged care facility and was vacated around 2009. It falls on a large property with a very big homestead. The land owners probably cannot rent it out nor want to pay for its upkeep. :-)

Hi Tom, I noticed those things too. Especially the light switches. It's so interesting to see how homes are built in other countries. I'm guessing Nick is in Australia.... Also, so interesting how the bathroom, the toilet that is, is often in it's own room, outside of the house itself. I'd hate to have to walk outside to use the bathroom, but there is usually always one of them inside as well. This outside toilet idea is great for when you are outside doing dirty work, like yard work, and you have muddy boots, but don't want to track mud to the inside. It's really a great idea!

@urbexindigo5164
@urbexindigo5164 5 лет назад
Hey Todd :-) Most of these places out on the country roads do actually sit on farmers land. They either do not want to or cannot keep up the maintenance costs for renters to live there and they reach a point where they just sit vacant. Strict rules came in regarding standards for landlords and upkeep so a lot of the farmers see it too costly. They usually were the original homes of the farm and new ones get built and the old ones rented out. Thanks for watching.

Three years later and I am just catching up. I wondered why you were so quiet and fast through this one. Were you freaked out? It did feel spooky . Maybe just because it was so huge and almost cavenous and like a rabbit warren of small rooms and that never ending hallway. My thought is 30's original house with 70's Bessabrick built on and some 80's touches.Quite mysterious, left to rot, it seems. A shame. looks like it could house three families.

Oh I agree with Christine T wouldnt it make a fabulous refuge fore women and children..all of those acres for the children to play in, trees to climb etc. There should be a law in this day and age where you are not allowed to leave houses vacant. If someone dies and there is no family the shires/councils should be able to sell them or refurbish them for that kind of purpose, not make money out of them.... thanks for the viewing...cheers from the west

Wow. Just wow. A few cosmetic fixes and a new roof and insulation up there (the ceiling staining in the room that leads to the sliding doors and patio looks like critter pee) and that place could be totally livable! Amazing property, too. I would imagine it being in the more arid section of Australia. Yeah a bit more roof damage in the section of the old light sconces and some foundation settling. But other than the wicked ugly carpet not too much needs to be changed. Look at all the storage in that kitchen. It is a cozy wee kitchen. But all that natural light. Oh, I could love that house if I had the dosh. And since there is traffic noises it isn't too far from some sort of civilization. What a beauty. With all the housing needs world wide it is such a shame so many lovely places sit vacant. Have you seen this one more recently? Is she still there? Thanks for the explore and noticing an improvement in your camera techniques since then as this is 2 yrs old. Thanks for sharing, mate.

I wonder mate maybe a bed and breakfast? Possibly a detention center delinquent youth? Maybe a halfway house of a sort " old thing " ? You mentioned a heavy feeling when you left mate that could be why. Those type of places are like that sad. I was an extra on " Bates Motel " season 5 the episode was called "dark paradise" we shot that at an old youth detention center in Vancouver Canada and at the end of the day, after the shoot, when I was leaving had quite the sad feeling. So, much despare of the former tenants you could feel their pain mate. I'm last in line waiting to use the phone while in jail, with the long hair in the Bates Motel season 5 ( the episode is called dark paradise ). Rianna the singer is introduced that episode as Marion? I think that was the name of her character. We all met her at the shoot thin as a rail mate. So, if you want to see what I look like watch that episode. I'm last in line waiting for the phone. We're in jail on the show I'm the one, last in line, with long hair Governor. But those kind of places are truly sad and they leave trace's of their sadness behind. Heavy feeling after I left there for days. Anyways " old thing " enjoyed this video mate. Sorry to say mate haven't seen this one till now Governor. Oh by the way was also in Twilight Eclipse another extra job. The part I'm in is when the go back 500 yrs when the cold ones come over. You'll see me running around, one of the extra's, when that vampiress raids the village. Did a few things in the movies but, as of late me movie career has stalled " old thing". The last thing I did was the Bates Motel thing " old thing " (he he). I was in afew other things too but, to numerous to go into "old thing" So, enjoyed gov, keep up the good work and watch out for the "salty's" mate!!! See ya.
