Man, You absolutely *LUCKED OUT* with that gem! Ive lived in RVs for over two decades, and my first several units made your trailer look mint in comparison. Few suggestions - If yer plannin a lot of dry camping, definitely upgrade every light inside and out with LED. the only outside lights on the RV battery should be the porch and propane light; do em all, fixtures and all. The style of fixture in that unit is notoriously unreliable. Keeping with dry camping, if you do resurrect the fridge, stove and furnace, upgrade to dual 30# propane tanks, well worth the money. Me, id flush n sterilize the hell outta the fresh water tank, as a precaution. All in all, lucky find!!
My first trailer, a 1990 22' Terry Resort, had a lot of things wrong and the mice issue. I used it to attend Creation Fest NW with my daughter. I replaced the refer with a smaller AC unit on top of a 10 0r 12, 000 BTU window AC that a friend donated to the project. Make sure the roof is sealed!! Check the date on the tires and learn the age these can be trusted. The best method I found to actually trap the mice was after the cheese was placed on the trigger to use thread to wrap it like cut bait on a hook & the mouse snags a tooth on the thread. Your hose to drain the grey and black water tanks will probably be stowed in the square tube of the back bumper.
Thanks for the tips! The tires are brand new fortunately. Great idea about storing the hose in the bumper- never thought of that! Have you ever replaced an anode rod on the water heater on one of these old things? I can’t find it, but I’m sure it needs replacing.
@@thedoubtfultechnician8067 I've never done it as my water heater is propane. However, if you need to maintain a temperature inside enough to keep it from freezing or winterize it (drain, etc.).
@markchase5323 As I understand it, all RV water heaters have anode rods that are supposed to be replaced every few years- except aluminum ones. Mine is steel and I can’t locate the thing to replace it!
"Got my square d breaker panel (...) at least that company still exists" That's actually a Bryant panel.... from a company that no longer exists. 😆 Though at least breakers are still available, as the Bryant panel line (after a bunch of mergers and stuff) would eventually be acquired by Eaton, where those breakers live on as "Type BR" (BRyant)
My neighbor growing up had a camper similar to this one. He let us play in it, late 80s-mid 90s. They have a particular smell that is ubiquitous I've found out over the years. What the hell is that smell!?!
Scary, but free makes it less scary. Just like my 1977 Dodge motorhome from hell. Just about the same interior and exterior, and originally more scary, with a small scariness removal upgrade, not including the engine fire, while on the road, which only cost a couple of days to rewire under the hood.

a) camping lasagna is the lord's lasagna b) if you think an oven is wasted space, invite me over. one shop i worked at, we had a nice convection toaster oven. bring some bread dough from home -- you wanna talk about making friends fast? or working at the vineyard that makes all the oregon bubbles, we'd go there for a week or 2 at a time to can all their stuff. huge kitchen upstairs. no one knew i brought cookie dough, until they started smelling it. then passing out cookies to all the temp workers and shit -- so good. ahem anyway *how dare you!*
Get some hypochlorous acid i think its safe to use on wood And the...... bleach will probably be ok on the old laminate stuff but i dont recommend it for the sake of preserving old and possibly like.... deteriorating meterials (yaknow sometimes they're ok till yoou clean than it just destroys it) .....make it lol (duh i didnt think)
