A lot of history lies abandoned in the woods in Nova Scotia. We visit two sites from days gone by. You have to admit, finding evidence of past thriving communities and businesses left forgotten in the forest is a bit spooky, especially near Halloween.

There are so many abandoned places in Nova Scotia. There is an entire town with a beautiful church just laying to waste. All from the 50s, and some houses even have canned food in the pantry and are fully furnished.

Old Nova Scotian here, wishing I were sixty years younger and able to enjoy life in my home province.

I love Nova Scotia, best place in the world (that I've seen, so far). I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. ❤❤

In my dreams (nightmares) The WWs created so many dark shadows (people who cannot be reborn because they went dsrk in thought and deed) I think you will find 1000s of ghost towns that suddenly get a new name, National Forests everywhere and still growing. That makes them unsellable, and unusabe. But, they will temp you to explore. Cannabils live in creatures in the NFs. So, it is a good thing I woke up and said, aint going to no forest, grand hole in the ground, or anywhere near port cities right now. People at the top are getting away with removing Love on earth, and the people pay with their souls being stuck in a deimension that can go from a nice campground and few issues, or living in an actual valcano. Next stop, eternal lake of fire? Dont the line I see where this goes. But, I wont open my door now. Kind people are the targets. xo

We find out locations by word of mouth and also through Google searches. Many others we come across incidentally.

Nova Scotia woods in the fall! Reminds me of when we moved here almost a year ago. Me and the dogs love the backroad adventures in the province too, it's such a unique place for it with a ton to see in a relatively small area compared to the larger provinces.

My grandmother grew up in Goldenville NS. In the early 1900's it had a population over 3000. Now there are 4 or 5 families.

My grandmother worked back there. They own the house halfway to Weymouth, so the workers would stay there and carry on the next day by horse and buggy.

Now that's pretty cool! Never knew about the natural park...perfect area for exploration! I would guess that there are plenty other places like this here in Nova Scotia. Bruce and Otis

New France was also called Electric City ..not that it was an actual city but it did have the distinction of being the first village to be powered by electricity in Nova Scotia. The power being supplied by a water turbine.
