Would love to but ours is a very large sailboat Found out how much to demast and haul out let alone haul away. About 12g. Ugh The marina is slowly being moved around the islands as needed. So sad 😞
@@johnbrown5787 Not rich at all. Have no way to get that boat out of there. Btw our boat was a fraction of the boats out there dollar-wise. We’re screwed lol
Please don't do that. We have a family that lives in our neighborhood that does this and it's horrible. The people that would be willing to live in the boat would be the ones you don't want around
Aloha from Hawaii Big Island. My aunt lives in Vegas..so I've been following the drying up of lake mead closely. Did you see the HeavyDSparks recovery video where they rescued that old man's houseboat? Great stuff.
Aloha from Kanaloa!! Seen the recovery Heavy D and Sin City Outdoors are some stand up dudes.. Was out in Parker Az and Bullhead 3 weeks ago. Water levels seemed OK there but Lake Mead is slowly dying. How will they keep water flowing downstream without Lake Powell and Lake Mead?
It’s not that difficult to unload a boat off the trailer on land. People need to start helping one another out instead of bitching about it. 1) Whoever is in charge of the marina needs to contact each and every boat owner that has a boat on the lake to see if they have a way to get them out of the water. 2) Ask all the locals with trailers to help get the boats out. 3) Set an area up like a dry dock to place the boats out of the way on blocks until all of them are out. 4) Then have whoever is in charge of lake mead park, go in and clean up the rest of the junk from the bottom of the lake. 5) On second thought, that will NEVER happen because someone might unearth something that those in power don’t want the public to know what was dumped there back in the 20’s, 30’s.
The marinas would never do that because they make money on every boat that's docked there, it's not free to leave a boat docked at a marina, it's a nice thought that people would be considerate and want to help out but reality is never that simple.
I was driving up towards Lake Powell this week and seen 3 houseboats being brought down south towards Flagstaff with full escorts, probably somewhere that has water maybe in the South East, perhaps.
We had the same thing here in OZ, we had a dry decade , Now we've seen two La Ninyo seasons , where the sea temperature in the Indian Ocean reverses the flow of moist air ,,,,, Now we had flood after flood ,rain for 6 months ,, all dams are overflowing ,creeks n rivers are full ,,birds are breeding . Sadly , Last year was so dry ,the fires were so hot n widespread ,all the seed in the soil burned ,,,now we have dead zones from high temperature fires .. The world needs to unite ,,, start large - scale planting of trees ,,, NOW. EVERY COUNTRY Respect
The registration number would of been scratched off if it was dumped by owner. Then can track it back to the owner and have them remove it and charge them for littering.
Exactly...,..this story doesn't make sense..... sounds like the boat was crap....& They stole the trailor...& That was probably alot of work.... unless u got two trucks....one pulling and other driving off
There is no rush, wait until dries out a bit more. Once it’s dessert it will be easier to tidy up, got a long time before any chance of being under water again, maybe not see it in our lifetimes?
I wish they didn’t clean it because seeing all the cool boats are land marks and great place to take pictures and videos. Even finding cool trash like coke cans or Pepsi cans are cool to find
A 2021 registration does not necessarily mean that it ran in 2021. Just another abandoned junk boat that had a trailer that was still worth something. It costs money to take it to the dump, so that's where it ended up.
@@masonhoward9042 up in New Hampshire we were told to properly dispose of motor vehicles by salvage yard or the donations centers looking for unwanted vehicles otherwise it was considered abandoned especially when a outside person had to research the former owners it was supposed to come back against the last owners too
@@masonhoward9042 yes but I still see abandoned boats and RVs everywhere! Here in the Tampa area they take them to the public boat ramps and just set em free!!!!
There is Lake Mohave in Bullhead City, Arizona. About 120 miles from Vegas. Lake stays basically full. It starts at the base of Hover Dam, and goes to Davis Dam. Any boat broker in Bullhead, Kingman, or Lake Havasu would buy it if in good condition. Don't dump it... Drive and sell it. Beats going to jail when they track you down though the Hill number.
@@sabrekai8706 I have some friends on a HB out there. They moved from the east coast and bought it a couple years ago. Totally updated it. I suggested they sell it while they could, but only now they're STARTING to take things a little more seriously. The writing has been on the wall for a long time now... I'm guessing they bought it from someone that read the writing!
@@ssoffshore5111 Yeah, You'd have to be blind not to see what's going on there. Locals (the real ones, not the newly transplanted) have been yapping about it for years. As I said, Phoenix 1997-98, they were talking about it even then.
Looks half stripped. What else is wrong with it? Probably cost more to haul and fix than it's worth. Probably a surplus of these in that area with no place to call home.
I could tell it was stripped on site before I found it, the hardware was scattered about and a couple pieces of interior were still there. Whoever dropped it left behind a complete boat. Very strange.
And they still haven't gotten serious about water rationing yet which should have been started several years ago. I don't mean watering your yard once a week, I mean no water of yards period! No washing of cars except at carwashes which use recycled water, etc.
I don't get it but help me understand this if the lake is drying up fast why are people still fishing and having activities in a drying lake. I get it when people want to enjoy being out in the water but if all these problems are coming up what exactly is the resolution.
That's a nice boat. That thing will get stripped of all the electronics and pretty much everything down to the shell. Man that's tough. I feel for these people
Holy shit dude! First off, found ya from Facebook. Second - Ive lived out of MUCH less than that boat, more than a few times in my life id of given a LOT for something that nice. Ive lived more than once in the back of the truck in my pic. Seems to me, a business opportunity, hell, a HUMANE opportunity exists - convert these boats into residences for people that need it. Block em up, instant well equipped housing. Someone down there needs to get on that.
Yeh I don’t know why they call that junk boat. It will never rust. New motor and prop, gages. I’ll put that on Lake Michigan this summer and make it the best party boat 🤠
I already moved in it last Wednesday. Low, low miles and it's still got a pump for the drinking water in the bottom of it. Had a great frog leg dinner too someone stocked it already!
The leg is half pulled, rams are off the lower, bolts at the top ar off and the Leg is out 2 inches or so. The spline on the shaft has a twis to it. You dont want this leg. Maybe the boat
Sad, but I saw another video of a lake 10 miles away that is flush with water.............probably from this lake. I think he called it Lake Las Vegas. Thank your politicians for letting it happen.
If it is clean salvage, I would totally rent a trailer and drive there from Louisiana to collect that boat and bring it here, where there is water for it to float on.
Check boat angel auctions. Probably get one close to home in equaly as bad a shape cheaper than the gas to drive out west and get this one. AND no legality of ownership.
The boat looks pretty much abandoned to me they dumped it on purpose. Most likely the motor is blown and I didn’t wanna put any more money into it so they left it there.
Somebody stripped out half the top part of the motor carburetor intake and everything else I'd say light it on fire but that probably wouldn't be a good idea either just let it sit there eventually it'll be underwater if you're lucky
Bring in a trailers Jack up the boat put tubes or rollers under it then winch it on to the trailer . Easy I have dropped several boats onto grass or concrete to work on the trailers that way Just Go gently.
I'm a life long boater. I have owned quite a few boats and I am very "up to date" on used boat values. This boat doesn't run, you can see the engine is half taken apart. The owner blew the engine and decided it was not worth fixing so they dumped it. I will give you an idea of the value. Here in the Miami/Ft Lauderdale area where we have plenty of water, that boat would be worth $2000 even if it were in perfect running condition and came with a nice trailer. Do not feel like you need to fall over dead for that boat, it's shiny but in reality it's a heap of shit. LOL
Why cant you sell it? Its probably been sunk or atleast swamped. Load it on a trailer, move it to a shelter and clean it up, post it on Ebay. Or take it to a state with more water. Heck find a truck Dead Heading to the East Coast and bring it to NC and sell it. No reason to just dump it.
I been in Vegas 55 years it's nothing new. I have seen shops dump them cause they sat at the shop after a repair and a customer can't be found . They take the trailer and good parts and dump them! lol Probably a shady shop anyway . They also dump them behind Frenchman Mountain. Anyone who has lived here since the 70's can verify that . It's impossible to get in that valley with a 30' boat but you can find them and stolen cars .
No it's called a mechanics lean. If you don't pay you don't get boat back. They can do with the boat what they please to recoup losses. Usually they will sell them.
Options? Pull the boat out of the water before it dries up, then keep it on the trailer on your home property. 2nd: It's your own fault for not pulling your boat out of the water months ago when the water level started dropping so drastically.
Aside from that, if anyone is that desperate, and is willing to get rid of their trailer/boat on the cheap, I'll put it to good use in Louisiana where there's lots of water.
That’s crazy but can anyone claim an abandoned boat like that just curious? If it were mine I would never just leave it definitely would be back to get it!
So the Lake Mead area is about to become like Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and other East coast states. Littered with abandoned boats for the taxpayers to clean up. Wonderful.
Find another lake to put it in. That's why I don't leave my boat on the water. I trailer it to the water. That way I don't have to worry about anything like that happening and then wondering how I'm going to get it onto my trailer. Go find another lake or river to go boating in.
The Sacramenro River starts at Lake Shasta. Its 186 miles from Shasta to Sacramento.Water goes into bay.WHY ISN'T the river water pumped into lake mead.ITS TO EXPENSIVE.ITS LAZYNESS.Builders, just build it.
They dumped it because it was not worth squat let's be honest about it. We can at least pull the fuel tanks and motors then take them to the landfill and pay to get rid of old boats in my part of Florida.
That boat was nice at one point, but is a piece of junk in its current state. It would take thousands of dollars to get it back in decent shape (motor rebuild, interior rehab/rebuild, hull repairs, likely drive service, new trailer)…
Man a good thing we’re not debt materialistic valued type people…. How much is a gallon of milk As. for a gallon of gas !? Economists and the union Dried the lake … People population growth as a sponge The lake …….a pale of water … “One’s so perfect …..they have to stink” . Can pay the expenses to pleasure But Bitterness is as cold as the water taken from.
Poor people can't fathom seeing abandoned cars and boats. Rich people walk away from garbage and buy new. I know women who throw away all of their clothes and furniture every year and go out and buy all new!!!
