I lived offgrid on the sea for 13 consecutive yrs on Canada`s West Coast...a few old boats for 3 yrs then over a decade at a small float camp I acquired 6 miles from town w/no road access. I had a blast as I climbed around on a gazillion vessels of all shapes & sizes, some derelict & tidal such as this in your vid plus many other shipshape ones that I off-loaded for employment when I still lived on my hook near town. Great times!
Knew about this or one like it. they filled it up with liquid polystyrene so it wouldn't sink. anchored both ends in the channel. Brought i back in, sold it, and a bloke cleaned it out. and used it a campervan sorta thing for backpackers. That was about 10-12 year ago. If this, is the same one, it pizzes me orf to see it like this. If this preservation order is the same as most I've seen and heard. It'll sit there til its to far gone and hauled off to the scrap yard!
I think you already know the answer, hence bringing it up but it played its part in D day being one of the last safe sights before troops hit the beaches. Sorry for the misinformation, but either way a cool old thing.
