There's a hint of sadness and loss I just can't shake when I see these videos. The beauty.... the place is awesome. I'd like to see it become a park with tours. I'd pay to visit. I'd offer to help keep it up if I could live there as a ground keeper

Gina MacDougall I feel that same sense of sadness, almost melancholy. Who knows maybe in a past life we lived somewhere just as opulent... Or here!! Lol! I can hope... I'd hate to think that even in past lives I was a commoner 😉😆

I cant help but think of when this was being built, that gentleman would have been overseeing its construction. A smile on his face as he saw his dream come to fruition, he would have strolled its yard, admiring its splendor. The home and the land would have bought so much happiness to many..... and now, it just brings wonder as to how one mans dream can fade away like this...

This was the home in which Eleanor Elkins was raised. Her father was Mr. Elkins. She married George Widener and they moved to Lynnewood Hall. Sadly, George and their son Harry died on the Titanic. Eleanor survived. Beautiful Trumbauer home!

Gorgeous home. Wish you could go inside. We spent 12 minutes looking at the exterior of the house with repeating views. Great cinematography tho. I would not leave there. First off the property taxes are probably killer. The upkeep on the grounds would be crazy. The house is to massive to live in. Give me a 3,500 to 5,000 square foot crib and I'm good.

What a shame. I was actually considering this place as a wedding venue back into 2010. On a more positive note, this mansion actually has been in near continual use so it is nowhere as in bad shape as many of these "abandoned" gilded age mansions.

I watched many of your videos yesterday and enjoyed most of them. I just had to make a comment on this one because it made me so very sad. It amazes me that no one seems to care about this place. There has got to be a way that someone could save this jewel of a mansion. After watching your video I was prompted to do some research on the place and the beauty is unbelievable. I know that there is nothing that you can do about this, I just needed to vent. I would also like to say kuddos to you. I have been watching quite a few videos about urban exploring and I am impressed at how you shoot your videos and the things that you say. I like the fact that you don't judge past owners. You just look at the property and explain what you see. Please keep up your good work. And good luck on completing your newly acquired property. Very proud of you.

With all due respect,, most who watched this video don't realize what an undertaking it was to build such a magnificent home such as this. It was a painstaking love of craftsmanship by artisans practicing old world technique & someone with very deep pockets to see it financially through. As stated,, so much of this home was imported from Europe & that within itself was quite the chore communicating specific details of each & every piece through transcontinental communications such as telegram & wire service. The industrial magnates of yesteryear attempted to outdo one another with the splendor of such a home represented such as this one. They wanted their home to be the "premier home". This home is a historic masterpiece which probably doesn't get the noticed appreciation by local planning committees who almost consider it a large behemoth of blight at this point. They do this not unappreciative of it's actual splendor,, but with the realization there aren't too many modern day billionaires willing to live in this area today in such a monstrous home paying the maintenance & property taxation or simply living in an area where time has passed it by. This home is primarily 5 conjoined homes & the present owner with cooperation from local authorities should treat it as such,, possibly splitting the home,, subdividing it into 5 such separate units,, partitioned & sold off as 5 separate living quarters to well healed suitors willing to live side by side enjoying & touting it's historical significance. The home could easily be accessed by 4-5 such families once again becoming a vibrant part of the community. Instead,, it's my opinion local authorities are biding their time with the assumption the owner will eventually run out of money themselves caving to the ongoing expense of keeping up with a zero return home such as it is now & succumb to foreclosure tax liens. I find it a complete shame a home of this magnitude isn't justly studied to a plan invigorating it's long term usage. The community deserves better & if properly managed,, a showcase home such as this could actually bring in industry or higher business interests who could utilize or leverage such a home in their business model. There simply aren't any singular private individuals interested pursuing long term expense & ownership of a home this large,, the locals should form a committee to preserve & figure a way to utilize a property almost built to perennial specifications. The home with it's granite exterior & tiled roof is virtually forever,, someone just needs to figure out what to do with it next..

I loved your video!! I grew up in Elkins Park, and my life long friend, lived in a beautiful house only about two or three houses down from this mansion. I dont know if you are aware of this, but when I was growing up, the property was owned by a Christian religion. It was called the Faith Theological Seminary. That probably explains the chapel room with all the pews and Bibles. I envy you for being given permission to tour the site. Anyway, thanks for the great tour you put together! Great Job !!!

This is Lori Bach. Definitely an "8-energy" influence here especially with the inside decor and external large blocks! Nothing but opulence and a "larger than life"/bold appearance. There is symmetry inside and outside so a "5-energy" is highly probable meaning, you can cut this mansion in half with an imaginary line and both the inside and outside are symmetrical/equal. Living right next door to the Titanic owner, what a coincidence! Awesome job Kyle, thank you!

Take a group of investors pool their money to restore and maintain the property like they do at the Hearst Castle in California and the Biltmore Home in NC. They maintain it through tours, you can take so many tours on different parts of the estate. It's a great way to save these property for future generations.

These type of home must be saved, for next generations, history, etc. I would love to live in that house, just wishes and dreams, growing up in Pgh, not far from millionaires row. What a pity if this house is ever taken and demolished. Stop to think of all the people who came and gone to visit the Elkins family, wearing the spats, suits, hats, women wearing the long dresses and carrying the ruffled umbrellas, the gardens all in bloom, what a historic home.

I thoroughly enjoyed your lovely visuals and history. I would move in in a split second, and run it as a house in its own period, complete with servants and my Husband and I as the host and hostess. Guests would purchase a holiday package and slide back to the era in which this estate was built. They would be in a full immersion, dressing for dinner and taking up the enjoyments and pass-times of the time. Of course....staff and the host/ess would be in residence full time, and arrangements could be made for Weddings and other special events. It would not be inexpensive to reserve a visit, but wardrobe and a Lady’s maid and valet would see to the needs of the guests for the duration. That could be so much fun.....there would be no cell phones or computers permitted in the public areas to spoil the sense of being out of time and modern societal pace. Thank you for showing this, and for asking how I would live in it. 🖤🇨🇦
