I attended this school in 1970 and 1971 for 7th and 8th grade. The steps side of the school was where the school buses came. I walked to school so I came up the other side of the school. In the winter we used to make human chains to pull each other up the red brick hill that turned to red brick ice, lol. That hill was sick.
This school was McKees Rocks High School from 1928 until 1966, when Stowe Twp & McKees Rocks borough merged to form the Sto-Rox School District. At that point, this became a junior high.
After Stowe merged with Mc Kees Rocks in 1966, they turned this school into the middle school. It was used for 7th and 8th grade. I went there in 1969 and 1970. The bus would drop us off at the bottom of the steps and we would walk up the steps every day for school. The place was Big, and old back then. They should renovate this building and turn it into a prison.
Love abandoned schools and theaters. Those steps, that entrance!!!! ❤️. This place is huge. Beautiful building. The place is locked up tight. Good peek from the hole in the door. If you find links from prior explores, please post in the comments. Thanks for your efforts and sharing your experiences with us! ❤️.
*This reminds me a little of Molly Stark Sanatorium. I really wanted for us to get in there, but its Posted, fenced, and full of Asbestos. Not to mention the disrepair the building is in and concern for our health and safety. Would still love to just get a peek inside it.*
Great video. As always. Bright sun shine. Blue skies and still snow on the ground , even though it's April is here and spring is here. 40 here today. 72 tomorrow crazy. Weather hasn't changed in the 18 years I've been gone. This may also be called. THE LOWER ROCKS my husband is from Mc Kees Rocks, so I'm familiar with the area. I hope Allegheny County refurbishs this into affordable housing, Apts. For homeless.. Keep up the great vlogs. LOVE YA. BE SAFE.
i possibly went in this school recently and it might have the most beautiful inside out of any bando i’ve ever maybe seen in my life. it’s boarded up even more than before tho, doubt anyone is getting in ever again.
That school has some nice architectural features and could hopefully repurposed as apartments or offices. McKees Rocks is a real shady area so one wonders how practical rehabbing this building would be.
@@damnibroc31 once big lots, eatn park, mcdonalds etc left it turned into a dump. Not that they were great places but broadway also lost alot of its gem businesses. The rox has changed so little but so much. The tailor shop has alot of charm to it like many older places on chartiers
It was nice at one time. I lived there in the mid 80s. Didn't have to worry about anything until years later when certain people infested the area and it became a drug riddled cesspool. Murders happening pretty often there now and there was even a murder on my old street a couple years ago.
We tried to explore it and film a video on it, but kids came in and we ran out. We still kept the footage anyway, but sadly we couldn't explore the whole school.
I saw your video. At least you got better footage than I did. Btw, I think I received a message from Devon awhile back I think about getting together to collab sometime. I'll have to check. I'm never on FB messenger. Anyway, it would be awesome to collab with you guys one of these days for sure.
I want to this school back in the early 70s. Had “Deadeye” Nemick for homeroom. It was an architectural masterpiece inside and out. The grand steps and terraces leading up from Chartiers Ave., a giant flagpole guiding your way to the top. The giant windows were all clear glass with the bottom panes able to open. The views were incredible. The rooms were huge with high ceilings. We had corporal punishment back then. Lots of paddling going on! If that didn’t work, they’d threaten to call your parent(s); and THAT always worked! But we got an education. A good one. And none of the girls had a penis.
haha like that last piece man. did everyone walk back then i mean not much parking even for the teachers.. hey man afterschool fights must have been a "killer" with them steep hills ouch
@@CHRISLIVESTREAM Haha! Well, they didn’t! 😁 I was a walker. We had a lot of walkers because of close proximity. If you lived more than a mile or so away, you rode the bus. If you lived more than three miles away…you were in another school district!!! When I attended, it was 7th, 8th and 9th grade only, so no student cars. Even in High School not many had a car, being a very poor town. And yes, if you want to fight I’ll meet you after school at the BOTTOM of the steps!!! 😁👍
I went to scool there in the mid 90s, those step we called "The Layers" awesome sled riding on our science books !!! And rumors were spead that kids died falling down into those deep window pits lol never really happened, just middle school lure
I went to school here for about 3 years. A few of my uncles went here when it was the high school. I have been inside a few different times exploring, before RU-vid was really a thing lol. Anytime we had friends form out of town visit they always wanted me to take them to the school. We went with a group of friends on Halloween shortly after the body was found and tried to make contact. Was a interesting night to say the least. I wish I could get in now that there is more paranormal equipment available. I know of a few different "Stories" about this place. I do have some pictures from 1 or 2 times inside. By the way, Its been a long time Wallie, Good to see you.
Old schools are the best than the modern schools, old school buildings I think were built better which there have been schools across the country 100 plus years old & still standing. I do remember when schools had smoke stacks, great video.
Nice video Wallie. That's quite a large building; wouldn't be surprised if it's made into apartments. Seems Everything is these days. Good work even if you could not get inside, Wallie!🤗🤗
I went there back in the 80's, Mr hothouse was a teacher of mine, that's when you still got hit misbehaving ruler across the knuckles or the palms it was your chose with 3 yard rulers taped together to make it real thick
hey wallie could you do any update video of this place when they've fixed up the school a little nicer if so keep the updates a commin' thanks in advance love all your video vlogs as always god bless ya and always have a blessed day and night
Nice smooth camera work Wallie! If you don't mind me asking, what kind of phone or camera do you use? Also do you use a stabilizer or not? I saw in the reflection that your device is attached to a square frame? Sorry I'm not familiar with some tech lingo lol! I'm seeking a new phone because mine is 4 or 5 years old and giving me tons of problems! Anyways thanks for all your awesome vids Wallie!
I give you an A ++++++-+ for this video. If you are unsure about something don't do it, and don't risk getting hurt. I'm sure they is a way to get in. Very curious to see what they are doing to this building. "Luxury" housing (as they have done to a bunch of abandoned schools in my county. Or a private or charter or Monsorri (SP?) school. Or restarting as a school, since so many public schools are so overcrowded now: the kids whose parents can't afford private school or don't win the lottery for charter schools (this was me growing up, though I went to a public admission only college prep high school where they worked you to death to get you into college. Very competitive and every exhausting, have an ulcer to prove it. Love you are changing up what you film. With your respect for abandoned hopefully someone in the town sees this video and asks you to come back and film inside.
The building looks really old, it would be epic to get in there. It looks like if you jumped you can pull yourself up on that ledge then jump again and pull yourself through the window but getting out might be tricky lol. Not to mention getting in with your camera gear. Great video though bud
Next time going in a dangerous neighborhood like this make sure to bring a gun and a few people. This neighborhood isn’t safe, especially at abandoned places like this were gangs like to hang out and meet up at due to the fact it’s secluded.
Wallie, I know the owner of the building and told him about your video. If you would like a private tour he would be happy to give you one and let you film. PM me.
Matthew Campbell As Wallie said in the description and in the video their working on fixing it up are in the process of it so soon it will be all repaired
Graduated there before the merger. Had to walk from Uansa Village every day. Shortcut across the railroad trestle bridge? Year after I graduated, they provided school bus. No cafeteria in this school.
