Abandoned Mill Houses Vernon Carus Penwortham Preston, Factory Bank, Lodge View, Sunny Bank. Part 1. 

Welcome to my video. Here I explore some abandoned derelict mill houses around Factory Lane in Penwortham near Preston. The area, once home to the now gone Vernon Carus mill, is earmarked for an housing estate with 300+ homes to be built, along with their very own lidl! The cotton mill was built back in 1785 and became a medical lint factory around 1915 and eventually closing its doors in 2006 with these houses being part of it all at some point. I couldn't find any dates for the houses but Factory bank felt and appeared older than the others. Two of the dwellings were occupied until recently, one at Lodge View and one at Sunny Bank, with them being given notice to vacate but these weren't accessible on the day. Maybe I will have a few more trips here in the hope I get to view the rest before they're gone, especially Lodge View and the other parts of Factory Bank, which I later found is home to numbers 1, 2 and 4. Not sure what happened to number 3! It was an interesting explore and I finally got to be inside that part of Factory Bank at last, which made it all worth it after the wait. Enjoy..
