Hey my lovely explorers, today we are off on a European Road trip adventure.... to France!!
This abandoned mansion was another amazing find on my recent road trip to Europe. The story behind this beautiful building is one that could feature in its own motion picture.
The owner was a director, story writer and lover of all thing theatrical. He penned the original story line for the film ‘True Lies’ which was then stolen and made into the film. After suing the company for plagiarism this director bought the mansion and settled down with his wife.
He taught and opened drama schools and ensured his love of the arts was brought to many.
Sadly after the passing of his wife, the house began to fall into disrepair. Eventually leaving it abandoned and nature took back. A stunning property with an ever more fascinating history. This should be made into a film to honour what was once lost and stolen.

Yes you should definitely close the window anything to do to protect the house that should be a given anybody that does this another thing I was curious and having to climb through all these brushes stuff do you ever encounter snakes

Lovely Dave What you mean is "no stone unturned !" What an absolutely beautiful house and I believe the owner was film director and some of those photos were actually quite famous French and English actresses. It holds great sadness even the childrens rooms were disturbing. By the way in the first attic room you went into I believe I saw a row of telephone relays on the beam - weird. Keep xploring your work it's so much easier to follow now and don't worry about showing your excitement and enthusiasm not only is it catching but its what makes your videos individual and stand out from others some of which are difficult to watch! Nice one Dave, what a cracking place. The big bowl in the shed towards the end is called a copper. Years ago, they would light the fire under it and boil water in the copper bowl to do laundry etc. My Nan used to boil her Christmas puddings in one at her farm. Keep it going mate, you do get better and better.

DAVE an amazing explore, one of my favorites!!! Love the way you explored the place with the communtary , the story as you went along, music and the actual history behind the place. Someone else has been there set the table, the leef in the center is totally a diff. colour and water wouldn't be in the glasses from the owner, also the office has been rummaged though as you can tell. Love blue the bathroom, never seen a rectangle clawfoot tub, noticed you got a little cardio workout on the bike!!!!!! HAHA!!!!! The reason for the doors on the other side of the fire place that didn't make sense was for ethstetics of semmitrey, I've seen some places where they put a door one side and a fake door in to balence it out . GREAT JOB KEEP UP THE WORK AND CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE!!!!! I almost forgot YES close the open windows and doors to preserve the place for return visits and so other explorers can enjoy, I've noticed others are now doing it now to!

I find it so sad that these people as of all the beautiful abandoned homes you go to have worked hard all their lives for these fabulous homes and furnishings and treasures, and for what? Because obviously no one was left to leave them too or those who had been given them had so much already they just didnt care. So why do we consume ourselves to work and buy stuff? Better to live minimalistic and just enjoy our life in other ways. This is so sad to me . Thank you for sharing your wonderful adventures mate.

The tile floors are wonderful, all the furniture is beautiful. I love the old bath tub. All the painting on the ceilings. Thank you for closing the window. Just a shame it is all left to deteriorate. Thank you, love your videos.

the upholstery design on the dinning room chairs are beautifully done. Love the warm colors. It means, he doesn't go with the flow, but makes his own waves...I have seen that saying before. He is a screenwriter/playwright?

A little like what’s going on with this plandemic right now. If we go with the flow with masks, sanitizers, lockdowns, tests and vaccines, we will be dead fish. It’s not about a virus. It’s about control, IMO. Edit: it’s good to see some people agreeing with my post. Please be ready for the next inevitable lockdown this fall. Stock up on food and water and get out of the cities if you can. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.

I don't know why , but I get the feeling someone has either been killed or killed themselves in that house . The little bedroom where you you went after the child's room with the handprint calender really gave me sad and uneasy feeling. X

That room creeped me out as well Belinda. After seeing the shot gun shells I could see a huge red stain on the wall where the bed was, like someone got shot. Happens. My Uncle bought a huge 3 story house and the last owner had shot himself in the head down in the basement. He put his head through the supports above the basement half wall and you could still see the blood stain down the wall and the pool it left on the floor. That place was haunted, my Aunt used to hear knocks and bangs upstairs in the bedrooms. I think it almost caused on family member to be slightly possessed by something at times. Anyway we will never know I guess. Stay safe all and stay connected.

This place is a magnificent little world of it's own inside. The entire home lovingly displays so many years, experiences & an eclectic variety of pleasures in all the belongings & memorabilia of an obviously deep & interesting man & family. Thank you for respecting it all & asking all who explore to do the same, in respect for the places visited. It seems the cabinet doors to a chimney may have been to mask the brick & make the room more cohesively decorated. I love the architecture with the many little nooks & crannies, decor & momentos making it all the more charming. The exterior & surroundings must have been just as beautifully created & cared for. Up the stairs, That was a signed photograph of English actor Michael Wilding. That goes way back. He was in films in the 1940’s. An married Elizabeth Taylor at one stage.

Hi , Dave, another beautiful place going to waste. So sad. I know you are not a paranormal investigator so anything you accidentally capture, would be genuine. From 17:27, a strange wispy thing darts across from left to right of screen, does a little spin and disappears! It could be dust or a cobweb, but why would it vanish? If you watch the grey door on the left, from 20:55, there is a black figure that moves forward and then darts back, again it could be a coat but when you went over to that area there were no coats. I'd say this was a favourite room of the owner and they never really left. I had a chilling thought, why would you have a cupboard with a brick wall behind it? Is someone walled up in there? Sorry to so morbid but all sorts of horrid things were done in the past, like that. Thanks, Dave xxx

This place is absolute gem David. How incredibly gorgeous. This person was obviously involved in the entertainment field. I just wanted to let you know that an wispy anomaly flew by your camera starting at 17:27 until 17:29. It most definitely was no dust and looked exactly like things I've seen in active locations.
