What an awesome way to finish our Anyox exploration by having a chance to go underground and see a part of the mine where very few have gone since it was abandoned in 1935. Amazing 3-part series! I am blown away at the sheer scope of what 3000 people can accomplish in two decades. ...And we're only seeing what was left behind--not the productivity of most of the finished goods and daily routines. Am also saddened that it can all dissipate and be forgotten so quickly. All those people mattered. Thanks for this very haunting documentary.

An excellent series, especially for me. My grandparents lived there and my mother was born there. The video gives a different perspective to the old black and white photos I have.

Very nice! I don't know much about mining but this was amazing to get a chance to go into this seldom seen mine and check a bit of it out. Couldn't imagine working under ground though. Some tough hard working men.
I just stumbled across the Anyox videos and watched all three and I have to say that they are probably the most professional and well produced I have yet to see. I'm from the UK and we no longer have anywhere as wild and isolated as Anyox and I would dearly love to visit there as industrial archeology is a great interest of mine, I would have to bring a fishing rod though! Thank you for sharing this I really enjoyed it.
*The surge tank and the wooden pipe was extremely interesting! I would be a little apprehensive entering the mine. My grandparents lived in Pennsylvania where coal mining was prevalent. When I was a kid, they warned me never to enter the old mines. Eventually Strip mining became the norm.*
Yes it was very interesting! When ever you enter into mines like this you need to use caution and it is at your own risk so it might not be for everyone. Coal mines tend to be more sketchy I believe.
I tells ya, the game writes itself. A level designer's dream; a mysterious, deserted town, reclaimed by nature, lost in the middle if nowhere, at it's heart a great mystery...it even has a mine!

Very cool series. you've earned my subscription. Given current copper prices and given the infrastructure still in place, I'm surprised that no mining companies have tried to reopen this site. I'm sure with modern techniques plenty of copper could still be found and extracted from those mines.
Thanks so much! There are companies that come in from time to time checking it out I believe. For sure, there must be copper left. Logistically, it is a very difficult place and maybe just too expensive to get something back and going for what copper they believe is left?
Thank you for posting the installments of this adventure. I'm grateful to have something this interesting and informational to watch while I recover from the Coronavirus. The camera work is great. The music is fitting and, in my view, enhances the mood of intrigue and exploration. I also appreciate the inclusion of photos from the time when the location was operational, as a way to orient myself to what you showed. I love to explore and really enjoyed the 3 videos you put up. The old photos you had for comparisons of how it was then and how it looks now was mind blowing. It's incredible just how fast nature could take back that location and yet leave skeletal remains of the finer details. Thanks for sharing your adventure.

I had never heard of your channel before but this video appeared when I was watching some other content from similar channels I have followed for many years. That was a pretty awesome mine exploration. This video reminded me of the videos published by Adventures R Us channel out of Canada. Pretty cool stuff. These old mines can be scary. I like seeing them but I am always worried about cave ins and toxic air. The water was probably pretty cold too. Glad that you were able to check it out safely. Take care and have a great day.

Amazing history, still partially intact, left as-was. If it were a Nat'l Park it'd be stripped of reality and made safe. This is the coolest ghost town documentary I've seen. So many different perspectives from this, like how a company provided you with a burial site and helmet if you died in war (nowadays they don't even promise your job will exist at the end of the month they hired you), and how the beautiful house you were born in has totally reverted to nature in one's lifetime. Epic!
Really well done. Cinematography was cool, and I loved that it was unlike most other exploration type videos in 2 respects: you were able to walk through places, and appreciate their amazingness without saying WHOAAAAA every 9 seconds, and I also very much enjoyed that instead of checking something out on your own and making wild, uneducated stabs in the dark about what certain buildings were for, or where things were, you brought someone with you with real knowledge who could educate both you and all of us watching. So many otherwise excellent videos are ruined by those 2 things and I really dug your approach.
Thanks so much! I enjoy taking my surroundings in and don't need to always be talking every second. I let the location speak for itself and when I do give info I like to be as accurate as possible. This had to be one of the greatest adventures . All three of the series took me on this adventure with you. the narration ,Music and videos were spot on. Put these three together and you would have a great History documentary . maybe some Network will see these and do just that. This is amazing and i just binged all 3 of these episodes! Amazing history! You should go back and set up cameras or recording devices in the coke factory or general store over night to investigate for paranormal activity!

The wooden pipes are called staves. The underground working are very extensive. Even though much of it is collapsed there are still miles of accessible workings if you have ropes and don't mind getting wet and dirty!
WOOOOOOW I have no words to describe how cool this is!!! And your camera does so well in low light. It’s a dream of mine to explore a mine like this! I know of one in Northern Manitoba but they flooded it when they abandoned it
Thanks very much! This whole part 3 besides the drone shots was all shot with my little dji pocket 2 and not my main gear due to the difficulty getting to these areas. This was very cool to experience. I believe this was originally sealed off also but this collapsed opening was found to get in.

I would love to be able to bring these top places all the time but this is a part time hobby for me for now and am limited to how much I can travel but I will continue to do as much as I can and bring something interesting as often as I can. I am already thinking of our next big adventures and I still have more to share coming up. I would love to cross paths with many of the explorers around Alberta and Canada. Take care!
Wade, are you from BC? If so, did you ever watch Gold trails and Ghost towns? There's a good collection of them on YT. That was the first show that got me in to this kind of stuff, you are doing great work bud. All the best in 2024.
Every now and again someone in an old town will pull some wooden watermain out of the ground. They really last for a long time, whenever someone pulls one out, it's always in good shape. I know small well based communities probably still have some in use. it was ten years ago or that a small town near us had some still in use that they just replaced.
I wouldn't want to be in there without a light, that place is huge and it looks really dangerous. Were there any fatalities in there? I'd be surprised if there weren't any. Thank you for exploring the site.
Oh yes for sure you want a good light. It is a huge place and for sure dangerous in parts. We just checked out a very small area of the mine. Yes there were fatalities in this mine. Not sure how many. Thank you and take care.
I just finished watching the Anyox series and throughly enjoyed every minute of it and has put this place on my want to explore list. As my username would imply, I like trains and was wondering if you would know of any resources that document the rail operations there.

Thanks! It is privately owned and pretty remote. Only way in is by boat or float plane but you also can't just show up and dock there. Totally off limits without going through the right permissions. When it is private property the owner has the full say and there is an active work site right when you enter so there are safety concerns out there also. Many hazards all around the site.
Is it owned by a scrap metal business , it seems who ever scraped thier first was purposely , trying to leave what they , though was historically interesting . Or maybe they were just trying to take what was the easiest to extract ? Do you know ? Anyway it really is a gem . And very interesting , thank you.
No it is owned by Anyox Hydroelectric Corporation now. The town was scraped in the late 1930s and early 40s, so they took any metal and machinery that had value around war time. They probably would have salvaged more, but the big wildfire went through in 42 and all remaining workers left around then.
Yes there was! This was one place we didn't have the time to really check out and there is more to see in Anyox for sure. We had to prioritize some areas over others unfortunately but at least we hit all the main areas. Take care.
Thankyou for the series. I think my family were very happy living there. My Grandfather had a job during the height of the depression. They had a summer place outside of Anyox in an abandoned mining town. They would go there weekends in the summer. Nancy

I used secondary equipment and camera on this part of the explore as I wanted to be as light as possible and not risk some of my other equipment. The nature of some of these hard to explore areas is sometimes audio and video won't always be perfect. It is what you can expect. Tough conditions. Thanks and take care.
too bad you didn't tell ;us what that conglomerate cement thing in the grave yard ,Looked like someone tried to move it with the chains that were hanging on it??
It is a big and elaborate tombstone that a husband made for his wife we believe. The chains were part of the tombstone. We aren't sure exactly why it is tipped over.
