Yes I still listen to CD's, greenhouse is gorgeous 😍. I collect Porcelain Dolls. I use to have about 200, only have about 100 now. Love ❤️ the Lighted Doll in the quilted white dress. All the 56 items is outstanding...WOW.
Yes, I used to own Dept 56. I had 2 different Christmas villages, and a Dept 56 haunted Halloween village. They took hours to put up and take down. Probably spent a couple of thousand dollars on them. I passed all of it on to my daughter when the grandchildren were little. My children and, now grown grandchildren, have very fond memories of them
I bought a lot of Halloween village pieces... It does take forever to put them together and then take them apart! But I really love the pieces.. I finally got everything from Halloween and Christmas put away, but they were combined for the Holidays!! ❤
This is an awesome unit. That Department 56 is worth so much money. You hit it out of the park with this one Wade and two more to go. Woohoo way to go. ❤️❤️❤️
kia ora, from New Zealand, thank you, coming home from work and watching you guys is a fantastic way to unwind. I love your relationship with your mum. If I could I would buy it all and set up a museum that people could come and visit. It kind of breaks my heart that it is all going to be separated. It would be mind-blowing to see it all set up and lit up and you could charge people to see it and give part of the proceeds to charity. Fantastic love you guys and wish you well. Tika
The porcelain doll in the blue is an angel. I have her. She should have a pair of white feather wings to attach to her back. She is beautiful and i bought mine back in the 90s. Wow!!
Some of the prices of craft items have gone down because most people don't know how to make anything.. I am an "Olde Hippie" and I could make something out of just about everything you have found... The kits for quilts are not as expensive as they were? But if someone really wants something? They will pay more... Good crafting unit so far... Hope you keep finding fun things!! ❤
Oh Grandma Venture I love you, you’re my thing! 😂. All kidding aside we are about the same age and we do like the same things so when I hear you say it’s my favorite, I stop and look because it’s my favorite too!
I think you’re probably right. They’re all from different villages and periods of time. They all have different names. I’m not sure they understand that this is not just one big village…..?
Awesome!! It's never ending!!! Holy moly. I'm glad I'm not doing all that unboxing and reboxing!!! And yes, I'm all wrapped and comfy underneath layers of blankets!! You guys are going to make a MINT!!!
Wow, wow, wow, You hit the jackpot again! I love Grandma V's laugh and I love to watch you two work together, so much fun. Where did Grandma V all of a sudden get a pair of green gloves? Lol
Wow I never seen so many Dept56 items in all my life . They are beautiful and I don’t see how anyone could have displayed all of those at once . Amazing .
Quilter here. The precuts fabric you found should include pieces from and entire fabric line. The 10" fabric squares are called layer cakes. The 5" ones are called charm squares. If you find mini charm squares they are 2.5". The rolls that are 2.5 wide are called jelly rolls. The should have a couple sizes 22 or 42 strips. If you find skinny ones 1.5" wide those are called a honey bun. The bundles you found were fat quarters. The ones that almost looked like kitchen towels are yardage. Probably 1 yard cuts.
I swear you are opening my moms storage unit lol. Hers wasn’t dept 56 (I think maybe Robert kinkaid (back in the 80’s early 90’s ), but she even has a mountain!
Thank God i am back. I lost my track and got a new one and was having trouble with it and lost my google. Up pops a message from Microsoftand oh boy then the trouble really began I had no info left for google after over two weeks I got my google back. I have missed you all so much. Today is the first you have been restored to me. Just missed you all so much.
We had a gift store that had Dept 56 on display and they got new pieces all the time and they added them. The village was like Grandma said displayed all through the store it had mountains and trains etc., it was fun to go and see the display. But like this store they closed so I imagine all that stuff was boxed up too.
All of those "SV" should be grouped together and sold for a high price. To separate and sell them separately was equivalent to severing a family. I predict that when they are all put together, the result will be a truly enormous city.
Vernonware is made in California and was popular during the 1950’s . People especially like the gingham design. You can but a whole set for $30 they aren’t expensive
