Abandoned Pizza Hut - Reading, PA. In this video we take a look at an old but rather interesting Pizza Hut location. It has an unique design to the building compared to most older sit-in style restaurants from the chain. Anyway, enjoy the video!

It’s been at least 3years. The place started going downhill even before that. The last time I was in there was in the late 90s.

Hi Wallie 👋, I only know of 3 Pizza 🍕Hut's left in the Detroit area. They are located at: 1. Woodward and 9 Mile Road in Ferndale, Michigan. 2. Gratiot and 10 Mile Road in Roseville, Michigan. 3. Gratiot and 14 Mile Road in Roseville, Michigan. These 3 Pizza 🍕Hut's are the only 3 left in the Detroit area. They have no indoor dining room. They look like Domino's Pizza 🍕with walkin service and a Drive 🚗Through Window.

How funny is this I order Pizza Hut Sunday December 12th and you come out with a video Monday December 13th about Pizza Hut and I was having Pizza Hut leftovers while watching your Pizza Hut video. Who would have known I'd be having Pizza Hut while watching an abandoned Pizza Hut video.

I used to live less than 5 minutes away. I love eating at that Pizza Hut especially when they had the buffet. All the memories. So sad when it closed down.

6:06 this portion use to be the green house dining room they covered up. My mother in law worked here for years as a waitress in the dining room. This place used to be a gem when I was a kid

I once worked for Pizza Hut as a Delivery Driver in Reidsville, North Carolina from August 1999 to July 2002. They were located on S. Scales Street. Before it was Pizza Hut, it was a Long John Silvers back in the early 1980's. They relocated to Freeway Drive in 2004. The building on S. Scales Street is now a Mexican restaurant.

Das Schnitzel Haus near Pottstown had the same sort of facade and probably used to be a pizza hut as well. The schnitzel was good but they are closed now as well after COVID restrictions probably.

There was a pizza hut in Morgantown pa which is just south of reading and that pizza hut is becoming a Boston Market

Thanks Wallie. I used to travel to Reading when I was an electrician my buddy and I stayed in hotels during the week and we would go to that exact pizza hut that was early 90s. Crazy

That's the Pizza Hut I went to as a kid. My grandparents lived about 5 minutes down the road. There used to be a greenhouse type area that was all glass where you could sit and eat. I remember that's where I got my Land Before Time hand puppets, so that certainly dates it a bit.

Man... many years working there!! Inventory was always fun because the freezer was outside of the building... this pizza Hut was ran by a very good man named John Carl who lost his life to cancer couple years back... many memories !! The one in West Lawn, PA was also closed and abandoned as well... I worked for Pizza Hut for 7 years and learned alot in my years there !

They closed our Ripley, WV Pizza Hut with hardly any warning. Weeks later, they tore it down for no reason! Building seemed very solid. For years there was nothing left but the floor tiles. I got one of those in my truck as a phone cooling pad before they took those too. I remember going there as a 6 year old playing with a set of brand new Pokemon action figures I had just gotten on the table while waiting for our food lol. Mom got me to believe that the olives were beetles 🤣

Makes me so sad. As a kid in the 80s this was a regular haunt for us my go to Pizza Hut. I begged my parents to take us here. So many great Fridays.

I’m completely amazed my Pizza Hut is still open considering every other one around me has closed. Hell, they don’t even bother to turn on the parking or dining lights on anymore. They must have a killer delivery game.

Like other people said, it really went downhill and closed not too long before covid hit. That place has a lot of good memories for me.

This is like 20 minutes from where I live. It closed around late 2019-early 2020 right before covid and never re-opened and the food was not that good. I ate here 2 or 3 times. The staff wasn't good either. It was only a matter of time before they closed. Did you see the former Kmart down there. There's 2 in the Reading area. I filmed both of them on my channel. If you are ever in the area again, I'd be willing to show you around to some more abandoned stuff nearby. There's plenty.

So I was driving through Austin when I looked and I saw something pretty cool. A new Burger King BUT...they are using the throwback logo on the building, I've seen the throwback cups and bags but now for the street signs, that's pretty cool of BK. I really wish taco bell would get the hint and stop turning their stores black and white.

That has been their logo for about a year now. Its not quite the same, but the difference isn’t very noticeable.

Did you know the music video by THE CLASH for their song ROCK THE CASBAH was filmed in Austin in 1981? There's a classic 70's Burger King restaurant (with the old orange-colored lettering on the building, and the "home of the whopper" sign) which can be seen in the video! Apparently this was the Burger King on Guadalupe Street which opened in 1973. Sometime since 2010, it closed and was turned into an IN-N-OUT BURGER restaurant. That chain could be considered the California equivalent of the famous Whataburger chain from Texas!

All the Australian dine-in Pizza Hut stores, that I've seen, looked just like that one. As far as I know they shut down all of them and now they only sell pizzas as take-away (as opposed to dine in).

I used to go to this pizza hut to pick up pizza every once in a while with my family. Not sure what their problem was not delivering to the city but if you're even two feet in reading they refused to deliver. I mean that's where most of the people are. I can see why it closed down, it was nearest to the city but refused service to the area.

I heard during the 90s some pizza deliverer got shot so ever since they stopped delivering to the city.

I did film an abandoned Pizza Hut and I heard in November of 2020 the building caught fire I really don’t know why but people still use the parking lot to go park at the bar next door

The pizza huts in berks County closed down about 3 or 4 years ago and now a lot of the old pizza huts in southeast pa and in berks County are turning into Boston markets which is another chicken place but you get whole meals with them its suppose to be like home cooking in away
