Abandoned Railroad Being Restored

The unused CSX and FEC connector track in West Palm Beach, Florida is being restored as of May 2017. This track was previously used as a parking lot, I include some before pictures so you can see how out of use it was. Now it is being restored to accommodate Brightline and facilitate rail traffic.

Some good news for change! I wonder if the crossing will stay gateless even with Brightline using it. Awesome video as always, glad to see someone doing an in-depth coverage of Florida's Railroads! :)

Wish they'd restore the tracks in New Hampshire, we still have a good chunk of the Concord to Penacook, Franklin, Tilton, and Laconia that's still there and with work could very easily be reactivated.

You must get videos of the first train on it. Its great to see lines come back into service. I love your video of abandoned lines, siding, and clossing. But I do get a little sad that they r not used. So this is a great story. Please keep us informed. Thanks.

Brightline will not operate over this restored track. However, it will be used by Tri-Rail to move from the CSX line to the FEC line, which will allow them to access Brightline's Miami Central Station. Service is supposed to begin in late 2022, roughly one year from now.

Brightline is NOT using this track. This is supposedly slated to be a freight or Tri-Rail connection.

I went last week to film, but encountered technical difficulties. The track is good to go and they've even tested it. I will be returning this week or next to film it. Thanks as always for the views and comments, Anthony!
