Abandoned Rite Aid - Warwood, WV. Unknown of the closing date on this particular location but I suspect it became victim of the closures of several Rite Aids as they were acquired by Walgreens. Now it just sits here to rot.

First Rite Aid I ever inventoried. That store got me on the dedicated RA team in our office. Never got a remodel either which is why I’m sure it closed. Elm Grove just off Interstate 70 is a much busier store. WV rite aids were known for their supply of liquor🍹 🍸 🥃

The downtown Steubenville location also closed because of Walgreens. It became a Dollar Tree. Kroger is back to the left on WV 2. This road makes for a nice drive if you’re heading to Weirton or Follansbee.

You should look for the abandoned Elby’s Big Boy in Weirton. Elby’s was big in the Wheeling area for years.

Lived in Warwood all my life and worked in the pharmacy at that rite aid for years. Can’t really say it was abandoned. It’s a dollar tree now. It had been closed for a few months when you made this video. We all really miss it.

We had a Rite Aid built on the intersection near our house since about 2000 and closed s few years ago with the Walgreens not far up the street open. The Rite Aid is still vacant.

Warwood is a neighborhood in the city of Wheeling, WV. Wheeling used to have a few Rite Aids. If I'm not mistaken, there's only 1 now and no Walgreens Also, you were pretty close, there's an abandoned BW3 in a nearby city.

@@WallieB26 I think we just had too many for the local area, especially with a CVS and Kroger with their pharmacy. If you're ever in the area again, there's a good bit of buildings that'd interest you!

That particular Rite aid is only about 10 years old. Prices were sky high. I used to buy make up in there, and it was never busy.

Just about all Rite Aids in my state have closed and have merged with Walgreens so the Rite Aid above us has been closed around a deca so now they are in the process of demolishing it.

Sometimes I google image search or I will pull up street view and go back a few years as sometimes they have street views from other years. And then I'll take a screenshot and crop the photo appropriately.

Ironically I just went to a Walgreens tonight that used to be a Rite Aid. The funny thing is though it's just the same store with a different name. Like literally no changes except it says Walgreens on the outside. They couldn't be bothered to even change the layout or anything. Just closed one day and said oh guess what this is Walgreens now. But technically it's still a Rite Aid lol 😂
