Abandoned Ryko SoftGloss XS: Marathon Gas Station in Tampa, FL - GONE FOREVER

UPDATE: The machine was taken out, the bay was torn down, and the gas station has now closed.
Hey guys so while I was riding around, I found this abandoned Ryko SoftGloss XS at a Marathon gas station in Tampa, FL. I've been trying to do this video for a while and I finally got around to do it. Neat fact about this wash, the Florida Car Wash actually filmed this exact one for his first video.
This car wash has been closed for 3 years, and it has a weird setup. It features onboard dryers and a stand alone PDQ dryer. It also has a molded gantry, extremely worn out FoamBrite brushes, and tri-foam that was retrofitted on. The outside of the bay has fence in front of the entrance and exit, however the fence near the entrance fell down so I was able to get access inside the bay. And before you ask, we did get permission from the cashier to walkthrough the car wash, the cashier was nice and said we could walk in.

The more you travel south of the country the older Ryko car washes you'll probably see. We used to have velvet touch 2000 at a BP. The cool thing was that the tall wrap arounds had filament while the rockers had foambrite. Now it's an Autec...☹️ Can u film the inside of a velvet touch 2000. It's better to do it in the evening, when there is no one. Great video though!!

0:45 That foambrite Carlile Material seems rough. I could imagine it making a lot of noise when it hits a car during a wash cycle.

Well I was born in Ocala Florida I lived in Tampa in the 70s up until about 1989 and I can tell you I visit a lot of gas stations to have those same type of car washes they seem to be the norm for every gas station one of my favorite car washes was the big one called big W car wash it’s under another name now but it’s over on Bush Boulevard and I believe Nebraska Avenue it sits right up against parallel to a railroad track funny that I seen a video where they were still operating the same equipment and I can remember that car wash back in the day man it was busy probably still is today but I’m here it was really busy back Then

Actually, the Voyager II is the international version of the Premier Plus. The Voyager APC was the international version of the Premier XL.

+Brandon Oddo Yes, it has both which is kinda hilarious. Back when the wash was running, they used the PDQ dryers.

The xs awesome short front rocker arms and the xs 2 has taller front arms but they do a good job and this one has onboard dryer with old PDQ laser dri there must been a 4000 there before

Theres no such thing as an XS 2. The first generation XS has the small front arms, but after a few years Ryko ditched the idea of the small front arms and put in bigger front arms for the second generation.

As I learned, the machine experienced an issue that was actually really easy to fix. However, instead of fixing the machine, the owner decided to completely shut off the power, mainly due to the low volume that the machine was doing.

How long has it been closed? Any plans to get a new system soon since this one looks beyond repairable. The GK signs and graphics don't look that old.

Disney Fan The wash has been closed for 3 years. They probably can't fix it cause it's more expensive to maintain a car wash than to replace it with a brand new system. They probably can't replace it either cause not a lot of people go to this gas station, so the owner might not have enough profit. Since, customers are more attracted to fresh new car washes than an old crappy car wash.

Its already too late. The gas station closed and the wash bay was torn down.

I doubt it. Not a lot of people come to this gas station, so the owner might not have enough profit, so it's likely not possible to fix or replace the machine.

Tampa Car Wash Channel their probably going to ReUse. The laser Dri for the conveyor car wash like the new car wash equipment like new foambrite and tri foam and the glow light and rain X and new dryer on both sides on the pdq laser dri when they are going to keep this dryer like when they are going Extend the length and the new Gas Station Called SpeedWay. While exiting the light will flash and then the LaserDri Will begin to dry

It will probably cost more to put in a mini tunnel, especially considering the work with the conveyor. Since, the entrance is too narrow and there's no room for a loading area.

Let's try something different. how about the new belanger Kondor single Arm touch-free that'll work and the New cash Machine the one that the women is going to say Good to see you thanks for visiting a car wash" that's the one she is looking at us on the screen. And the LaserDri should works fine theirs nothing wrong with the dryer. their just going to keep it While Demolish the Softgloss

Like I said, it probably caused a huge profit loss when the owners machine broke, so he probably can't fix or replace the machine anytime soon. And these older gas stations don't have the kind of money like 7/11.
