Have been a few bad fires in the gorge which have deterred farming there.

Farming back in those days, when this farm was built, would have been touch. The children would have had heaps of fun, running around, but they would have all had jobs to do as well. The children might not have had the chance to go to school either, depending on how far away one would have been to walk to.

I would think the structure with the closely spaced vertical poles would have been a water tank stand
