Back in the day when I worked at the Mt.Clemens,Kmart from 1985-1996. I remember when this Super Kmart Center had a silent opening before the Grand Opening in the early 1990's. I went to the silent opening and from what I remember that this was Michigan's first Super Kmart Center. I worked at the Kmar t on Groesbeck Hwy and Cass Ave until Kmart Closed Permanently on Sunday May 8,1996 on Mother's Day. It's a shame how Michigan's first Super Kmart Center has been left abandoned. I,miss Kmart Stores very much.

Cool big Kmart

That was a excellent super Kmart! You don’t think a store is going to jar as many memories but the older you get, sometimes that’s all we have to hold onto. Thank you. There was talk that that was gonna be a BJ wholesale warehouse just like Sam’s next-door. I don’t know where the talks are on that one or if it was even for real.

I'm still amazed at how big the Super K-Marts were, I'll never forget the one in Niles Ohio - my hometown when I was younger. I miss it so much they had everything.....

The Guam Kmart is the closest thing there is to an Super K Mart. The store is 166,000 sqft. and is still open 24 hours! Even though it is as large as a Super Kmart, it is not considered a true Super K Mart because it is missing a bakery, deli, and second entrance.

That Love’s Furniture used to be an Art Van! I went to that kmart all the time up until it closed, it used to be the main store my family went to.

I worked at this location back in 2004! It was nice and I enjoyed shopping here!

I remember shopping there a couple times in was nasty and rough. Port huron had 3 kmart locations the super k was the newest and last to close also the worst. It was very dirty, rude and ceiling tiles feel. It has been closed for 10-11 years now definitely more the 9 maybe a few

Wow! That a big building, looks like it's falling apart. What a shame; no more K-Marts.

I remember this Kmart location. I would go there as a kid and I liked this store. It was hard to find staff and some were not always the happiest. My favourite cashier was Tonya who was always very pleasant and happy. Also, the bakery had some of the best pound cake and also they had 50 percent off hot deli items so for a whole rotisserie chicken came up to around $2.64 after 9 p.m. Also, they closed off parts of the electronics section after 11 p.m. too. Clothes were cheap when they were on clearance and I remember getting t-shirts for $2.00. For a time being they also price matched items as well and they always had flyers at every cash register which was so helpful. Customer service on that part was good I will say. Thank you for sharing the video of the Port Huron K-Mart. Have a happy 2024 year and I look forward to seeing more of your content. I did like K-Mart as a store but I liked the location in Sarnia, Canada a lot and I also liked the old K-Mart in Fort Gratiot, Michigan on 24th Avenue.

Most likely the Sam's club next door to this super Kmart was a Pace Membership Warehouse Since Kmart owned pace stores Sam's club bought pace in 1993/1994 converted all pace stores to Sam's

Man do I miss Kmart. The clothes were actually very nice. Jacquline smith had her line there for years. It’s just good memories from a time gone by.

Fun fact. When my mom was growing up, she lived near the Port Huron area and she went to this actual store. So surreal.

It's a national tragedy that they can't find some way to repurpose or use the ones that can be saved. Its truely sad to see Kmart and Sears like this. I truely dispise fast Eddie and what hes done to not only one but two once thriving retail giants. If only he put money into the stores and renovated them, maybe just maybe they would still be around and thriving still. Now there are only 2 Kmarts left in the USA and 12 Sears stores.

We had a nice Super K in Fairbanks Alaska, it was shut down when Kmart declared Bankruptcy in the early 2000s. The building is being used for a place where people can pay to store Vehicles.

As a vendor I worked in many Kmarts- this one was one of the best due to the size and auto center that was unused. Everyone that worked there was great. The food court was abandoned for as long as I ever went there. People would just take breaks there and use the tables to eat. Some of the ones in the detroit metro area served food pretty much as long as they were open as far as I know, good prices too.

One of the only Kmart's I have seen that is next to a Sam's Club. Kind of in some states, Walmart is next to a Sam's Club. Super Kmart Center and Sam's Club

I'm a local (literally like 5 minutes away from this kmart) i remember shopping here as a kid, but now people do car meets or during the winter we drift in that parking lot 😂 lots of good fun. I actually learned how to parallel park in that empty lot, but i will say the woods are kind of sketchy as to the left and right behind it. A lot of homeless people live there. A lot of locals call it tent city because of how many there are

i have never seen a 24 hour kmart in my life. all the ones in washington state always closed around 10 pm. like 9 am to 10 pm or so. sadly now there are only 2 kmart locations around. some people claimed the one close to where i lived had a certain smell and didnt have much stuff. sadly the building is gone and more apartments are being built in its place but the mcdonalds in the corner of the lot is still there and so too is the old firestone turned dialysis center. the firestone had moved to a slightly bigger building in the lot of a home depot.

Greetings from Michigan Wallie. Blown away by the size of the building. I remember we had 1 over here in Roseville Michigan, U-Haul purchased it way back. It might be a drive in one I’m not sure. The only other one near here is in Fraser or Clinton Township. Not a super k just a regular which has been closed forever. I’m waiting for them to do something with it. The other 2 local ones were torn down and big Kroger stores were built in their place

maybe one day, i may build a *Super Kmart Center* in my Minecraft on my 3DS, i had built the Big K version with a Little Caesars.

I live in that part of Michigan, there are lot of old abandoned stores and out in the country a bunch of empty farm houses and barns. If ur feeling REAL frisky go to Detroit there a countless abandoned buildings to explore! 🤣

I was just in a K mart. Well, technically, it was a spirit Halloween. But it's in a former K mart tho Add a walk in there for old times sake. When's the next time you'll ever be able to walk into a former K mart That has not been converted into a different store. Good video though I enjoyed it.

Do you know the Kmart in Westwood, NJ closed at the end of September? Did not get anything at the store but got a Kmart Shit online instead. There is a Kmart on Long Island, NY in the Hamptons. Just not worth it for me.
