The place where the childrens toys and craft stuff was is said to be the most haunted part, also. I still cant believe its already been almost 4 years since it was shut down. I can still reamember going here everyday, to get my grandmas friend from work lol
@@cherilynnsorensen668 I use to live there and everyone that I knew that worked there and people who grew up in Parkersburg all say it was highly haunted.
@@KiltedVeteran Wish I could go visit there I'm all the way in the sandiego area they may have demolished it or sold it to another business would be cool if it was still there
Lost both of our Kmarts. One closed in 2012 and the other due to lease not being renewed in 2013. Both are not abandoned. The 2012 closure turned into an airforce store while the 2013 one turned into a Hobby Lobby.
I'm a security guard, so all I do is hang out in empty buildings. Sometimes I think about who used to be in these buildings and what they did. I've always wanted to go exploring abandoned buildings. It would be loads of fun.
The good ol' haunted Kmart. I've met a few people that I went to college with at WVUP who worked there and told me some crazy stories about that place.
@Inability1 I must first preface that these are just stories I have heard secondhand from friends and fellow college acquaintances. I have not personally experienced any of these so I cannot validate the truthfulness in said stories. That being said, I have heard stories from several former employees experiencing strange goings on, especially while closing down the store for the night. They have talked about witnessing things randomly flying off the shelf or items being moved around. One of the folks I graduated college with said that they would put clothes or whatever on the shelves. They would leave the area briefly, come back, and find said clothes folded and stacked laying in the middle of the aisle. I e also hears from a couple of people that someone, ir something occasionally came over the PA system and spoke in a whisper-like voice. Many have also experience sounds of children laughing and playing after the store has closed for the night.
Those bathrooms are creepy and the backroom is more creepy at night for sure when there is no light makes it even more creepy and do you get a feeling that something will jump out at you ?
That alarm is malfunctioning. Not too shocked but kind of annoying. I would have been soo tempted to break it just to shut it up to be honest.. Though I would never actually do it.
Doesn’t sound like it’s malfunctioning sounds like it’s ready to be armed, just beep like that from the factory, it’s like that in most stores but the sound of life usually blocks it out Lolx
Camp Counselor: "You wanna hear a scary story about Kmart, kids?" Kids: "O-okay..." Camp Counselor: "Once upon a time, a Kmart closed down not far from here, and for years, nobody thought there was anything inside. Word got round by the locals that the place was haunted. So one night, an anonymous guy with a camera decided to see what was inside of this supposed haunted Kmart. His video camera was found discarded inside the Kmart by those who owned and occasionally inspected the property. When they were able to boot up what the guy had filmed inside, the property owners were aghast! The footage showed the guy creeping through dilapidated back rooms and offices, only ever finding mold and discarded paper work. Eventually, the guy carefully crept his way out onto the main floor where all the shelves used to be. When the camera turned, an audible gasp could be heard by the guy. There, still standing, was the Electronics Section. It hadn't been taken down. With trepidation, the guy crept toward the Electronic Section. As he inched closer and closer, the man stopped. The Inspectors claim they heard him muttering on film, "No. ... No-no. No, it can't be. It mustn't. Why?! Of all things, why?" The man's voice began to climb in alarm. Suddenly, he let out a blood-curdingly scream at what he saw still on the shelves." Kids: .... "Wh-what... what did he find?" Camp Counselor: "... You really want to know?" Kids: "... Yeah." Counselor: "You SURE you want to know?" Kids: "Y-yes. Yes! What was it?" Camp Counselor: "... It wasn't electronics." Kids: "....." Camp Counselor: "... IT WAS NOTHING BUT UFC WORKOUT DVDS!!!!" Kids: "AAAAAAAAAAaaUUUUuUuuUUUUGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!"
At 8: 52 you film electronics on a shelf. I believe that is the system that kmart had in place to play music and power a giant blue light that the stores had put up in the early 2000's. Stores had a giant circular blue light that hung from the ceiling that flashed and a song was piped through the system when you turned it on. That program didn't last very long. Anyone remember that?
Good video! I am surprised that the lights are still on, after this Kmart has been closed! That alarm going off is creepy! And your by yourself too! Nothing worse then running into cobwebs!
Being one of the few people who live within walking distance of this place, and given that my grandmother worked there her until it closed, I found this very interesting
I’m not going to lie but that back room is so creepy and the sound of the light buzzing makes it even more creepier who expected jump scare comment me if any of you did o sure did
Awesome video. Unbelievable there's still power. However I would recommend going with 1-2 other people. You never know if there's gonna be some squatters or crackheads or some other sh!t. Stay safe.
I remember getting my picture tooken for Christmas when I was a little kid. I never was aware that it was "haunted" at all. Infact it was the most lively place in town on southside. I remember going up to that same exact pharmacy and me and my grandpa getting his meds.
that little window with the louvers was the cash cage, you would knock on that window on Friday to get your check paid in cash all $10 bills. LOL i think they wanted you to spend some of it before you left.
You should have went to the old warrwn county middle or high when in was still run down and abandoned and before they turned it into the skyline middle school
Poor K-Mart has gone out, ever since Sears were going down it pulled all its other stores down with it. 1990’s-2000’s was love to grow up in K-Mart and Sears! I remember some K-Marts even having a Little Caesers Pizza in the inside.
I was reading up on the one in San Jose California where I grew up as I know it's been closed for years! The plan was to gut the interior and make it a multi store facility. The big structure is still on Google maps! I've never actually been to a Kmart as that one was way across town for my family to bother! I have been to every other similar kind of discount retailer with the exception of Walmart because I just don't want to give them my patronage! Haha!
They keep the ventilation system on as well as the heating system,it seems. Will they open other stores in that building in the near future. Why aren't these stores just torn down. There were other areas filmed previously such as malls in worse shape than this, yet not torn down.Aren't there any laws that would force them to tear down abandoned malls.
The closest Kmart I lived was the one in Algona which is one of the last Kmarts in Iowa. That Kmart closed on 2/16/20 so this comment was posted four months after that Kmart closed.
I live about 60 Miles from here but never went to this kmart Parker it's in Parkersburg this should have closed Before 2017 Like during the 2002 2003 Bankruptcy it was close to Marietta Ohio Location, Vienna Wv, And this location was like 10 Mins to the Vienna One, There was alot within 1 Hour and 30 Mins, It was close to the Zanesville Location, Clarksburg Location, Alot locations,
I wish I could have given LC pizzas to the crew who got laid off, but had to come back the next morning to “gut” the store. Their story is somewhere ova tha hedge fund.
for people asking about why theres power on and why they dont tear these stores down and why hvac is on. proprety management companies try and sell these buildings and some do bare minimum to keep buildings in shape such as turning off the power turning off hvac letting it decay but others do what this company is doing such as keeping the power on hvac on and maintaining it some companies will even arm the alarms and turn the exterior lighting on
When did Kmart run out of business I know it's been a while since I heard about Kmart but how did it went out of business And pretty much this Kmart store looks abandoned and decommissioned how does the doors are still opening It is still decommissioned
Soooooo Creepy Nothing Is Worse Than A Empty Kmart With Lights All Be A few Shut Off and The Red Exit Signs Glowing The Dark & The Disarm Warning of The Security System Beeping As Well Creeeepy

FYI- All old Kmarts have been purchased by UHAUL and will be converted into new indoor heated storages. This location is also owned by UHAUL and they will eventually start interior demolition.
Lol didnt happen in torrington ct it turned into an ocean state job lot, the one in southbury turned into a shopping center and the one in watertown is being converted into something else, but my childhood palm bay florida kmart, did turn into a uhaul. Would kinda be stupid if they buy em all we dont need that many uhauls.
If you're in St. Paul Minnesota, there's a pretty cool abandoned kmart that has sat since 2019. Can't go in though, the building is armed. It's at 245 Maryland Ave E
