What an amazing place. I'm no expert but I believe that a Thermal power plant is any type of power station in which heat energy is converted to electrical energy. Great look around and thanks for sharing

My dad was a maintenance engineer at a power station on Nauru in the 1960s. What is scary is that equipment installed in the 1950s is still in use! I pass a decomissioned power station on the way to work every day. (Battersea Power Station - now very pricey poncey flats)

Hi Shaun, what a place! A thermal power station is what we have always known back in the UK to keep our lights on and drive industry to reliably power the entire country. Basically you burn stuff and the heat moves a turbine to generate energy no matter what the weather. They are what the ideological western governments are closing as fast as possible despite the benefits of cheap, reliable energy which renewables cannot replace reliably in the UK and many other parts of the planet. The Chinese love them and are building more and more each year to dominate the world markets with cheaply produced goods from cheap reliable energy while western governments wring their hands, destroy our energy strategy and tax the living crap out of us for the crazy drive to the unnecessary Net Zero. That is why you had a gas tax on your electricity bill last year even though you dont use and gas and why the UK and most of the western world has additonal taxes on just about everything among a host of other staggering financial penalties for the average citizen. Guess I had better get off this soap box now. 😂
