With the "I'll swing by" bit, I totally get where Lando is coming from but I totally understand Connor, as well. Lando saying, "I think I am just going to have a coffee" implies grabbing a coffee really quick - Connor saying "I'll swing by?" feels like he was saying he will "swing by" real quick since it felt that it would be a quick trip to the café to begin with.

“Swing by” usually means to go to where the other person is. So that’s where the misunderstanding came from. Since it was not specified where Lando will be waiting, Connor thought he will swing by the coffee place where he thought Lando is… Or so I think 🤔

About the anime conversation, I’ve also found myself having the same issue. As I’ve gotten older I find it harder and harder to connect with anime I don’t have a nostalgic connection to. Connor is so right, anime has a formula a lot of the time, and the repetitiveness of seasonal anime doesn’t appeal to me like it used to. Maybe I should start reading manga too, seems like the perfect in between! Looking forward to what the podcast will bring in the future!! Loved the first episode y’all! 🙏🏻🧡

Such a lovely opening episode! Loved the cute lil opening! Less than five minutes in and I was already grinning like an idiot before it evolved into full-fledged laughter (at 11PM)! You both bounce off each other so naturally and it made everything feel so cozy and warm! Honestly felt like I was in the room with y'all just watching in amusement. Unironically Dungeon Meshi is one of my favorite Animus/Mangos of all time. I loved the LAIOS WE HAVE TO COOK silly stuff but it just goes off the rails in a good way and becomes a fantasy epic with world ending horrors and literal existential nightmares/threats. unironically if you don't like the goofy cooking stuff then it gets good after like 9 or 10 episodes. But you should like the goofy cooking stuff too.

If connor wants a pure cooking rpg anime, watch "Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill" ! It's cooking EVERY episode! And it's "bachelor" cooking so it's easy ways to cook, like using store bought sauces

The best thing about things like the "I'll swing by" situation is that Connor is the type to not remember or overthink something like that at all, literally the second he's sent the text he's forgotten it exists and Lando is the exact opposite, he'll not only overthink it, but remember and analyze it for the rest of his life.

After enjoying the podcast listening on Spotify prior I stand by my review on X. The animations and having the visual experience on set just adds to the feeling of hanging out with you two. I am still in stitches and smiling as I am having my breakfast. It's super HQ and yes I agree that if someone says "I'll swing over" I would assume they were heading over and wait at the door until the last possible moment. That being said I love how natural everything is and your humor. It's definitely a 5 star experience.

Congratulations you guys! The jingle at the beginning is so cute! Nowhere did it feel like you guys were first-timers at a podcast. I understand Connor's mindset on "I'll swing by?" thing. I could absolutely see it as him meaning swing by the end destination and not to pick Lando up. I probably wouldn't read it that way at first though, but there might be enough ambiguity for me to text back "so you picking me up then?" or so.

As a former/oldschool anime lover I 100% agree. Anime imo is too formulaic and like, idk "studio produced" to be like half ass the same. Like Connor is right in a way, anime is more of a genre in vibe and presentation and story-pacing more than like a artistic style at this point.

If you don’t like something from the start, I say just don’t bother - there’s no point forcing yourself, when time is limited enough as it is. Go do something you’ll actually enjoy! (Caveat, I don’t really care for trends or what’s popular though.) The ending… got me good LOL.

So many topics popped up, you kept a good rhythm and went from one thing to another smoothly but most important of all you guys really do have a good synergy and we can clearly see that here! Wonderful first episode, loved everything from beginning to end! The opening with the little song and animation is so cool, the animation was so smooth and the song catchy! Barely started listening and was already laughing so hard, seeing you both grin is infectuous! You two have great synergy together, being able to create such engaging banter - it made it feel like I was coming along for the ride, sitting there watching you bounce off each other. Topic wise there is so much to cover, I'm still not over the first one about "swinging by" as a phrase; it piqued my curiosity as someone who has studied translation/languages. Along the way, the phrase formed such a vivid, silly image in my mind of "swinging by the end destination" in a manner of getting on a catapult and being yeeted. The rest was a mix of very relatable stories as well as stuff that made you raise your head in question, such as the Disney smell machines or driving a car into Target if there was a way to do it. The more you know! Loved the small Disney movie section, you both have great tastes in movies! That said, Lando's great at telling stories, he has a way of making you want to listen until the end. Very much enjoyed the section with viewer submitted questions, too! How has Connor never had a smoothie in his entire life, he's missing out on greatness. Also love the premise of crowning the winner after everything is done, Lando rightfully won this round. Thanks for creating this podcast, absolutely looking forward to listening to this weekly and congratulations on the launch!
